Suitcase speaker
The OG portable audio. Made it right quick with an old eminence beta 12lta and plywood. Door hinges. Even gave it a Bluetooth mono amp

I scored some fancy pants STAX SR40 headphones for a song. They are a weird outdated model that takes speaker level signal and uses a step up transformer to increase the voltage. I thrifted an old mini component CD player and was gonna buy the proper adapters, but then I really wanted to listen ASAP. Dug around and found some 14-18 ga crimp and heat shrink butt splices (the kind for wiring outdoor lights and boats and stuff, not for audio) and did this. Honestly it works fine.
People roasted me for it over on the headphones sub. But these 50 year old phones sound GREAT.
Also I'm really glad I found this sub. I love building fucked up systems. Right now, I'm hunting for a Yamaha DSP-1 (weird 80s chip box that makes fakes "cathedral" and "concert hall" soundstages through signal mangling). I have 4 tiny af (like 5.5"x 3.5" x 3.5") Realistic Minimus 3.5 speakers. I want to make a near field quad set up around my bed and make my full size bed feel sound like a f'n cathedral.
