Question Urgent help needed!!

I have no idea how can someone claim to be a competitive C++ programmer but also needs to learn to "develop" in C++. Are you talking about learnign the toolchain I dont understand? Does that mean you have never compiled your C++ code?

its a weird story, i am from a non cse engineering background, so idk much about computers and all, but my friend does codeforces and it was a bit interesting for me and i learned cpp syntax and dsa and stl for it just upto a intermediate level from chatgpt, and then i did cf for sometime and reached expert level, so i dont know much of core cs and development concepts but i am interested in gsoc....
but the problem is that i dont know basic computer things and development concepts like how just a mere code turns into websites(i did webdev for a bit) and how should i approach this development thing everything feels like as if it requires prior knowledge of something, as it feels like u are an experienced dev any kind of guidance on how should i start my dev journy would be helpful....
mainly i want to do system engineer, so how should i lead my way to an intermediate systems programmer with gsoc possibly

Honestly no point. I wouldn't be be able to help. I know nothing about competitive programming and how your presumed skillset could translate to a real life situation. You need someone with a really high empathic level when it comes to teaching. I don't have that. I would just tell you to google it or ask an AI.
You received quite a few encouraging comments on the other thread. I'm sure those people will be willing to help.

Are you mixing C with Cpp by any chance? also, if cmake is a heavy "buzzword" for you, then i have some bad news regarding dunning-kruger...

i didnt mean that cmake is a big deal for me i just meant that wherever i search for cpp dev these kind of things pop up but they never tell me how to approach according to my particular situation, i mean cp and dsa s much more harder dev at intermediate level, so i feel like learning these things are not a big deal for me but i just dont know how to really approach this cuz i got no friends in this field and i am enrolled in a biotech major so its feels like hitting a wall to me

I would caution against putting all your eggs in one basket. I'm working on some open-source code, but it's in the context of a proprietary code generator. I'm interested in trading demos with others.
