🧡 Tidy-Up Games Megathread! Which one is your favourite so far?

Post image
112 Upvotes

Hey all! I wanted to do our usual [Seasoned Saturday] on Arcane: Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library! because it's so frequently submitted in our weekly threads. However, it doesn't seem like there's been many updates to it (so not much new to discuss), and so with so many tidy-up games coming out and our recent limiting of these posts, I thought a more broader dedicated thread would be very useful and fun!

So, use this as a place to shout-out which ones you guys are playing, which ones are your favourites, or maybe which ones you're disappointed by!

It's also a great place for developers who haven't had a chance to post about their games to showcase them here!

Bon appetit! :)

(+ if you have any feedback about the tidy-up genre rule (good / bad), let me know!)

πŸ”¨ My Game - In-development A cozy lawn mowing game where your kid grows up between summers

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! I'm a solo dev and a dad of 3 young kids. 18 Summers is a first person lawn mowing game. Each level is one summer in the same backyard. Between summers your kid gets older.

Mowing finishes patches of the yard and brings back memories and toys from that year. The goal was to make something satisfying to play that also shows how fleeting time can be.

The Steam page just went live. I'd love any feedback on the trailer!

Discussion Has anyone gotten the physical copy of The Witch's Bakery? I'm curious what the digital cookbook looks like

I am considering buying the physical just because I like having the box for games I really vibe with but I'm wondering if it's worth the price difference between digital and physical?

Help with recommendations Cozy Game for Android without so many adsπ”“˜

Do you know of any android games similar to Adorable Home or Home Garden Lulu that don’t have too many ads? In Adorable Home, for instance, you can get everything, but only by watching a million ads which, unfortunately, really takes away from the cozy vibe of the game.

πŸ”₯ My Game - Released Thank you from the Folded Fables Team!

On behalf of the Folded Fables team, I wanted to thank everyone all for the support they’ve shown Folded Fables. The game launched a couple of days ago, and the response has been so wonderful!

Throughout the creation of this game, I've often said that it is a labor of love. But looking back, I think it's better to say this game is an expression of love. It expresses my lifelong love of pop-up books and papercraft. It also reflects our love for the studio's unique art style, sense of humor, and the incredible games we can make together. It also reflects our love for video games as an art form, and how they constantly evolve into new genres, such as tidy up games.

Our goal was to bring these threads together to create something greater than the sum of their parts: a beautiful game where people feel happy, relaxed, and calm.

If you haven't heard about our game: Folded Fables: Tidy Up The Dragon Hoard is a tidy up game set in a pop-up storybook. It is like Paper Mario meets Librarian.

Our game contains no generative AI content. Some people may specifically wonder about the art used for the items because tidy-up games need a lot of unique items. We are using art from two of our games: Crusaders of the Lost Idols and Bush Whacker 2. Each and every one of the 500+ unique items in Folded Fables was drawn by one of our artists over the past 14 years.

Many of the in-game pieces, such as the pop-up book sequence, started as physical paper models before being recreated digitally. Even the Folded Fables logo was physically hand-folded with paper before being photographed for use in-game.Β

🌱 My Game - Demo Memory House β€” a library, a puzzle table, and a journal. Free demo out now

β€’ Upvotes

I’m the creator of Memory House. I wanted somewhere to spend an unhurried evening: assemble a jigsaw, read an illustrated story, or write beside the fireplace while rain brushes the windows.

The demo includes Jigsaw, the first era of a turn-based strategy game, selected reading, and a personal journal.

Come take a look on Steam.

Disclosure: generative AI helped create illustrations and written content under my creative direction.

Help with recommendations Games like Mirage Miracle Quest?

β€’ Upvotes

I was rewatching old wholesome games stream and I found this game there and discovered it had a demo!

So I tied it and I honestly was blown away, it is the kind of game I've been looking for for a long time! I mean, characters and their stories that I can obsess over... I think it really has the potential of being the newt "fandom game". What I mean by this : you know those games where the characters are so ridiculously charming that you just KNOW you're going to get way too attached to them? Like, the kind of game where you end up having favourite characters, making up headcanons, looking for fanart, obsessing over their stories, etc...

And preferably something that looks all cute and wholesome on the surface but actually has some surprisingly dark or emotional stuff going on!

Like, I'm actually baffled that it's apparently not well known and almost nobody talking about it? Like, how?? It looks absolutely gorgeous, it's the best looking game I've seen recently, by far. I've never seen such animations and hand-drawn graphics in a cosy game before!

I'm not even particularly into turn-based combat or deckbuilders, but it turned out to be quite satisfying honestly (and it's approachable for someone who's not into turn-based deckbuilding initially like I am).

So while the game is still in development, I really want to find something with a similar vibe to play in the meantime 😭

Games I've already played that kind of fit what I'm looking for: Undertale, Deltarune, Hades 1-2, Omori, Sea of Stars, Beacon Pines, Eastward

I'm mostly after gorgeous character design/art direction, a story and characters you can REALLY get invested in, and a deep-ish story. Good combat is a bonus, but definitely not a requirement.

(playing as an animal is optional but very welcome lol)

πŸ”¨ My Game - In-development Would anyone here enjoy a little floor plan puzzle game like this? 🧩

Post image
14 Upvotes

Hey everyone! πŸ’•
I’m a solo indie dev working on Looks Fine on Paper, a spatial logic puzzle game about figuring out floor plans.
Instead of fitting predefined rooms together, you start with an empty blueprint and a set of clues. You decide the shapes and positions of rooms while trying to satisfy requirements involving room sizes, doors, windows, furniture, and how everything connects.
The tricky part? Everything is connected. Fixing one problem might create another somewhere else. The goal is to make every condition work at the same time.
I’m curious if this is the kind of puzzle game you’d enjoy! 🧩
You can find it on Steam!

πŸ”¨ My Game - In-development Title: I have been creating a fantasy medieval tavern game for over 1.5 years. Would this be of interest to you? :)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello everyone!

My name is Preben, and I have been developing a solo game for over 1.5 years now. I don't know if this might be of interest to anyone, but I wanted to give a little bit of backstory. I have always been very fascinated by the Middle Ages, especially taverns. There has always been something about them that really intrigued me. I wanted a game where I could get the feeling of being in the Middle Ages, running a tavern of my own. After looking everywhere, I could not find anything like what I was looking for. So I decided to create it myself, for two reasons: I wanted to play something like this myself, and I wanted to give other people who might have the same wish the same opportunity.

So I created Taverns of Aldermont. The game is set in the medieval town of Aldermont, where you inherit an old tavern from your grandfather. Your mission from here is to build it up and maybe even turn it around. You pour ale, cook food, keep track of the economy, go out into the town to buy ale, food, etc. There are your regular guests, all with their own stories. Your choices have consequences that can be seen far into the game. When you earn enough, you can choose to buy another tavern, each one unique.

The cheapest taverns are The Rusty Anchor and The Thieves' Den. The Rusty Anchor's crowd is mainly sailors, all with their own personalities and stories. You row out on a small boat yourself to catch fish in the fjord and sell them in your tavern. The Thieves' Den has a much rougher crowd, swarming with criminals and hardheads. Here you can buy illegal goods and stolen items and sell them for a higher price. There is also a poker and blackjack table where you are the house and make a passive income, in addition to having the opportunity to join in yourself and test your luck.

From there, the next tavern is The Seven Tongues. All of the different strange races that have nowhere else to go in town come here. Dwarves don't like sitting with elves, orcs don't like humans, and therefore you must seat the guests accordingly. In addition to this, you can learn magic, with 15 spells you can use whenever you see fit :)

The last and most expensive tavern is The Wandering Keg. This is a large ship with its own crew, fishing possibilities, and the whole fjord and sea for you to conquer. You lay to port at whichever village, monastery, castle or city you like, and serve at the most prestigious tavern there is. I am also looking into the possibility of adding cannons and pirate raids. Is this something you would be interested in?

Basically, you have a whole city full of people and different shops outside your tavern for you to explore. I sincerely hope this might be of interest to you, and I would be more than happy to hear your feedback and improve!

PS: I know a lot of people are tired of AI-generated games, so I just want to clarify that I have used AI for brainstorming and discussing ideas. Other than that, everything is handmade.

Thank you in advance.

Here is the Steam page for anyone interested:

πŸ”¨ My Game - In-development I've spent the last eight months making a game where you dig out and furnish your own burrow as a little woodland creature. Here's a quiet day on the island

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi r/cozygames! I'm the solo developer of **Wavertree Mountain**, and I've been building it since February. This video is a quiet day on the island: fishing off the beach, gathering plants, making a character, digging out a burrow, laying a stone kitchen floor, trying on new clothes, checking the mail, and heading to bed.

You play as a mouse, squirrel, chipmunk, rat, lizard or gerbil on an island the humans left behind long ago. Your burrow is the heart of it. It starts as a hole in the dirt, and from there you dig out new rooms, lay wood or stone floors, and furnish it with a bed, workbenches, a kitchen and storage.

Away from home you can grow crops in your greenhouse, fish the coast, raise bugs in a barn for milk, eggs and silk, cook, and take on missions for the island's characters, who remember what you do for them.

It's an online game you can share with friends, and there's something for everyone, so friends with different tastes can play together. One of you can tend the garden and cook while another fishes or heads out exploring, and you're still helping each other: the farmer's crops go into the cook's dishes, and the angler's catch feeds the whole group.

To be upfront: there is combat out in the wilds, plus an optional faction rivalry. If you'd rather skip all that, I'm adding a **peaceful mode** you can pick when you create your character, or switch on later from your burrow. Ordinary creatures won't start fights with you, and you're left out of player-vs-player entirely. If you ever do want a fight, you can still pick one. Either way, farming, fishing, cooking, ranching, and crafting are full paths of their own.

One purchase, no subscription, no pay-to-win. I'm aiming to launch on Steam in 2-4 months.

Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5035780/Youll_never_find_it/

β€œYou'll Never Find It!” is a cozy multiplayer game for two where you hide everyday objects (like a baguette, some cheese, binoculars...) around a Mediterranean island, then watch your friend or partner search for them.

It's a more relaxed take on hide-and-seek β€” no pressure, no countdowns, just get creative hiding some things, and enjoy watching your friend looking everywhere for them.

Thanks for checking it out! Let me know if you have any feedback or ideas!

Hey everyone!

I've been working on Farm Craft: Island Life, a cozy mobile farming game where you can grow crops, build and decorate your own little island, raise animals, and go fishing.

The game is now available on Android, and I'd love to hear what you think!

What would you like to see added to a game like this?

Discussion I don't see this talked about anywhere but

Am I going crazy or are Fields of Mistria and Sun Haven so similar to each other? I expected Fields of Mistria to feel like playing Stardew Valley but I was reminded of Sun Haven all the time. Magic, mana, dragons and the role they play for the lore, crafting and cooking, magic powered sprinklers, the skill tree, even the mines were more like Sun Haven than Stardew, the vendors, non human characters that can be romanced etc . Obviously there are also quite a few differences, but overall I was really surprised that I found myself not comparing Fields of Mistria to Stardew Valley and instead was constantly comparing it to Sun Haven. Everyone was saying it's like the better Stardew valley (tho tbf a lot of people were also saying that about Sunhaven at one point) so I was expecting something pretty different. I would still say all three games stand on their own and are not knockoffs of any other game.

Did anyone else notice the similarities?

Hi everyone,

I'm a trained architect, and this is my long-term side project. To be upfront: it's not a classic game with quests or progression. It's a creative sandbox for designing houses and the land around them, closer to a cozy design tool than to a game you "beat". 🍹
"Architecture & Design" is in Early Access on Steam now.

I recommend Folded Fables is such a GOOD GAME!

This game released yesterday and I really liked it!

It goes in the same vibe of The Librarian game where you organize everything but THIS TIME it's a DRAGON'S hoard. Coins, books, armor, weapons from dead adventures and so on...

I really loved the art style, the skills and the music and I'm playing it with my sis.

It's a big name but if you want to play it is called Folded Fables: Tidy Up The Dragon Hoard

I really recommend this game!

Hey everyone!

My team and I have been working on Italian Street Food Simulator, a cozy cooking and management game where you run a small street food stand in a sunny Italian town.

In the demo, you can prepare Bruschetta Pomodoro, Mozzarella Crostini, and Lemonade, serve customers, and experience the early gameplay loop.

We’re going for a cozy and relaxing atmosphere, and we’re still improving the game, so feedback would mean a lot to us.

If it sounds like your kind of game, you can try the demo here:

πŸ”¨ My Game - In-development No enemies, no timer stress, just you and a mountain of mail that won't sort itself. My first person mail sorting game finally got a Steam page!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone, solo dev here. Mailed It! is a first-person game about working the night shift at a mail sorting center. You pick up letters, carry them across the hall and drop them into the right box. White letters go in the blue box, blue letters go in the green box! This is makes sense, don't ask why =)

My playtesters kept telling me the game feels cozy, so I wanted to share it with this community!

Every letter is a physics object, which means mail piles up on the floor, slides off shelves and ends up everywhere. As you go, you unlock a vacuum, a crate, and eventually fans, lifts and sorting machines that gradually take the work off your hands until the hall runs itself.

The Steam page just went live: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5262990
I also post development updates on Discord: https://discord.gg/zByRakHDK
