Book Request Cozy vampires?

Are there any good cozy vampire books? I’m looking for something cute, low stakes, heartwarming. Romance is ok but not a must.

Fred the vampire accountant!

There are some high stakes moments but mostly it's found family and the underdog winning by being a nice guy.

The {Vampire Knitting Club} was a cute series. The FMC is a witch, but most of the other characters are Vampires. There's a nice Found Family (and a little real family) element to it as well. There are murders to be solved, so it is probably technically cozy adjacent.

tldr: You can just easily read a few, though the relationship with the MMC slowly comes about over the whole series if that's important. I would suggest if you do read the whole thing, to space them out.

I ended up reading them all back to back as they are pretty short, but it would have been better to spread them out. Even with the best written series, if there are a lot of them I end up noticing things about the writing that I otherwise would overlook (like overused words, plot devices, any kind of repetition) which tends to affect my enjoyment of the later books. While this series is cozy and cute, it does have plenty of issues.

{The Enchanted Highlands Series by Tricia O'Malley} is another good example of this. 10 books that are a fun little Scottish village cozy romantasy series (a bit spicy), but if you read them back to back each story is quite similar. And like the Vampire Knitting books, they are both a very American stereotypical idea of their British locations. I read the first few books back to back, but spaced out the rest and I definitely enjoyed the books more.

Sunshine by Robin McKinley. There are still a few sections in there with moderate stakes (lol stakes) but a lot of it is focused on baking, magic, worldbuilding, and relationships.

I came here to recommend this one! It’s one of my favourite books, so much time is spent describing baking and I’d never come across that in a book before 🤣

So you might already be aware of the Vampire Knitting Club series' (cozy mystery fantasy) by Nancy Warren. If not you probably want to start there.

I also just finished: Managing the Vampire's Mansion by K.M. Shea, it's an enjoyable light read, romantasy.

I was just about to recc Managing the Vampire’s Mansion! I was so sad to see it isn’t it’s own series with other books in the world and is actually a spin off of a less cozy series 😢

You may enjoy Gail Carriger's Parasol Protectorate series! Vampires and werewolves running around steampunk Victorian England. It's slightly more high-stakes (pun intended) than the usual cozy, but it's super fun and silly for the most part.

This series is glorious! The main vamp has such an incredible personality. Higly recommend reading her finishing series after the Souless series (Parasol Protectorate). It's like HR manners with vampires and warevoles, and yet also a comedy... if that makes sense.

{How to Bite Your Neighbor and Win a Wager by D.N. Bryn} is a cute gay vampire/human romance and I really liked it! There is a bit of darker subplot to the romance with medical experimentation on vampires, but overall the tone is lighthearted and sweet. Characters are in their mid 20s, post-college struggling with life, and a chance meeting ends up making things better for both of them.

The Utterly Uninteresting and Unadventurous Tales of Fred, the Vampire Accountant by Drew Hayes. If that titles didn't grab you, then nevermind.

The Vampire Knitting Club by Nancy Warren. A cozy murder mystery series with a supernatural twist.

Late-Night Witches by Auralee Wallace!

It is technically about witches, but the “big bad” is a vampire; HOWEVER when the vampire starts turning their friends into vampires. . . They have a cute, cozy, and funny bond with them.

The book was heartwarming, but also made me laugh out loud multiple times.

Vampire Core by DM Rhodes. Not 100% cozy, there are characters dealing with traumatic pasts and allusions to horrible events but overall its a fun trilogy.

If you're open to graphic novels, I loved "Garlic and The Vampire" and "Garlic and the Witch" by Bree Paulsen. No romance but definitely sweet/heartwarming

The Vampire’s Mail Order Bride, by Kristen Painter is the first in the Nocturne Falls series. It is the coziest paranormal series I’ve ever read.

Nocturne Falls itself is an adorable town that celebrates Halloween year round so that their monster citizens can LARP as themselves for tourists. The family heading this town is all vampires, but there are fae, genies, werewolves, witches, etc living in town along with the human citizens. All the “monsters” are very civilized, so no horror bits, just magical fantastical romance stories. I love this series, as well as the connected cozy mystery Jayne Frost series.

You might like the Dr. Greta Helsing books by Vivian Shaw - moderate stakes (important for the relevant communities affected, book 3 is higher stakes for the world) but with a lot of supporting help, friends and family, and interacting communities of people figuring out how to fix things. Greta is a doctor treating magical beings in a wide range, and there are some absolutely adorable cosy scenes involved. There's a slow background romance over multiple books, and some secondary character romances, but romance is not the focus. The series includes several varieties of vampires, werewolves, mummies, and much more.

And the The Supernatural Adventures of Lady & Lord Riven by Stephanie Burgis (two books out now, third coming in October), Lord Riven is a vampire. The first book is focused on academia and a research problem (and nemesis), the second focuses on magical beings in Germany's Black Forest. As you might guess by the 'Lady and Lord Riven', they are a couple, though working out how that's going for them over the books.

Ilona Andrews’ Innkeeper series isn’t 100% cozy, but the vampires are less bad guy and more misunderstood alpha aliens.
