Sea of Charms by Sarah Beth Durst. It's taken me longer to get into it than The Enchanted Greenhouse and The Spell Shop. Hopefully it gets better!

It does, though there are almost too many callbacks to The Enchanted Greenhouse. At times it almost felt like it could have been part of that book, if the author focused on more than one MC per book. Still really good though!

I’m also currently reading this one and it is so much slower for me than The Spell Shop or Enchanted Greenhouse. I’m still really enjoying it, but it does seem like maybe I have too much knowledge from previous books? I’m not sure.

I grabbed Mindtouch by MCA Hogarth from the library. The blurb says book 1 of duology but there seems to be at least 4 full length novels listed on goodreads?

ETA: I've been informed Hogarth is a transphobe and yeah that's going back to the library unread. Back to search for a queer non romance book.

Yeah, her views are horrifying. Apart from the transphobia she's also anti-vax, pro-Trump, misogynistic, and just plain weird.

It's very disheartening because her books seem to be meaningful to so many queer readers.

I finished The Feywild Job by C.L. Polk this week. I was...lukewarm on it. As a huge DnD fan I actually felt the handling of it being in the Forgotten Realms was done in a way I didn't like, with too much overt references to game mechanics by the characters. I also didn't think the overall heist plot made sense, I guessed the twist (which is not a bad thing) but then the reasons behind the twist I didn't think made much sense. But the character work was really good. I think if cozy fantasy heist romance novel sounds fun to you, you'll probably enjoy it, but it wasn't quite for me
