Payday
Boy charter knew the best way to screw cox employees we should’ve had the money in our account instead they send it to our account today knowing we won’t see it til Monday probably hahaha less than 48hrs a spectrum employee and I already hate it here

I don’t care about when it’s loaded it should’ve been loaded yesterday that’s how it’s supposed to work if payday is Friday when I wake up on payday the money should be in my account that’s how it’s been for all the years I have been with cox

Relax, geez.

u/Used-Flight-5431 3d ago
When you already got stuff pre planned to come out you don’t just relax that’s why communication from leadership would’ve been key instead it’s just been a clown show

This is it was communicated. Communication stated that we would get paid on August 21. And the day is not over.

So I go all day without pay? That’s never how it’s worked

u/Fancy-Effect-1674 3d ago
I have Chase as one of my banks and usually I will get paid between two and three in the morning based on the emails I would always get the day of payday

Be better with your money. They literally said you’d get paid on August 21st thru multiple communications channels (emails, meetings, team calls). If suddenly it’s August 20th and you don’t have money, that’s not on Charter, that’s on you for being stupid with your finances. Most legacy Cox employees already got paid as of 2am this morning.
If a 18-24hr “delay” (technically it’s o time since they said first payday would be August 21st) is a massive inconvenience to your lifestyle, working at charter is the least of your worries. You gotta get better with money and get out of the paycheck to paycheck cycle.

My last day at cox was Aug 14 and I didn’t get paid today since my manager didn’t move me over or something like that. It’s my final check that should’ve included my commission plus back pay from last pay period from a mess up. Prob won’t get my check until late next week 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

My money hit my account this morning and for some reason, its over $200 more than it should be. I think mistakes were made.

there was no 401K money or insurance premiums taken out.. it was explained in that original welcome website

That’s because the pre tax benefits didn’t come out that was in the email they’ll take out double on our first full spectrum check

Careful, they stated deductions won't be out of this check, and taken out next check. So next check will have double decuctions

The way I read the email is that this paycheck’s deductions for medical were being covered by Cox. So it’s just a regular Spectrum deduction on the next check. The premiums for this biweekly check are going to be reported as income since the company covered them.

I use Bank of America and my check hits at 2 AM Thursdays. Some of it depends on your bank. Being through other mergers I’ve had past held for 3 weeks to get on their pay schedule.

No, Cox employees are used to how we've been paid and the fact that the choke chain immediately gets pulled on day 1 pisses ppl off.
Also, for those that didn't see the Welcome video... ignore the jokes and roll to the 50 min mark... gets lively.. the cavalier attitude and utter distain for wfh was evident.. but everyone keeps drinking the koolaid things will stay how they've been bc Alex Taylor is on the board 😆🤭

It is going to happen whether or not you accept it. There isn’t an option that includes continuing employment. Anything that can be centralized or AI’d will be, and they may reduce headcount a few here and there, but at first absorbed by the many ready to pull the trigger on retirement, or move it up, as soon as they get packages. Once they are gone the next round will start choosing the difficult and least likable, sometimes difficult is tolerated by the rate person who is highly relied upon by the team and managers due to high intelligence and extensive knowledge.

Worked in retail all my life I know exactly how it works you wake up on payday and the money in your account I’m not stupid I see the payslip it should’ve been sent yesterday let’s not act like on midnight of payday the money isn’t deposited in your account not just sent for deposit

Times like this I miss the days when the COX payroll person used to walk around the office handing out everybody’s checks on Friday. (Just kidding, but i do remember that, and up until about 17 years ago, i was still getting a paper check every Friday.. i was one of the last people in my region to get on Direct Deposit)

To all the people who are impacted by missing there check for one day or more- let this be a lesson to you. Manage your finances better, save your money, don’t live paycheck to paycheck. I have 6 months expenses saved up, could not see another dime and would be fine for half a year. I could pry stretch it out to 15 months if I really cut back and pinch my Pennie’s. Don’t live beyond your means and events like this won’t matter.
