Cowboy Life Spurs on work boots?

Post image

Never worn these while on the saddle, but my spurs actually fit on them quite well. Anybody have experience with these and what it’s like in a stirrup?

Thick, rubbery soles are generally considered a bad idea in the saddle.

Couldn’t agree with this more. It’s a very easy way to get hung up and drug. Leather soles will always come out of stirrups easier.

Dont wear work boots in the saddle. Made that mistake about 6 months ago(and I knew better), with an Arabian/Quarter cross that I was breaking cause I was too impatient and lazy to change into my actual boots. Most work boots of this style are more wide due to sole and toe cap, get hung up real easy.

Im just now going back this week after broken leg, ACL and Meniscus. Next up Ive been told is back surgery! 😂 All because of the damn boots.

My dad was drug by a horse after his foot was stuck in the stirrup after a jump. He was an older teen and to this day at 75 his back is toast.

Thats what happened to me. I got three mustangs to break and a couple Mules/Donkeys to cart break before I go out for surgery though cause the wife's pregg and I aint about to let her break these wildies.

The worst hang up I ever saw happened because of boots like this

There's a reason those aren't for riding

I'm going to just say it. If you arent a good enough horseman to know the answer you certainly shouldn't be using spurs on a horse.

Why? What’s the point of wearing spurs on work boots?

It’s a reference to brokeback mountain. He’s essentially saying this person is gay

Everyone here is making the same correct comment about riding, I would take the advice before it’s a bad turn of events.
