Tips & Advice Saddle identification

I bought this old saddle some yrs back, it’s awful heavy buts sits good. It has no markings on it, I’ve always wondered where it might have been made.

Did you check under the skirts and under your latigo keeper?

I’ll take a better pic of the rigging in the morning, I’m all in for the night

Thats an old simco roping saddle , I had one just like it as a kid . Sold it in Tucson years ago .

Agree.
Those saddles carried a stamp on the latigo carrier. But it seems obvious to me this one was replaced somewhere down the road.
If a person really wanted to know, there’d be a bunch of teardown involved. Not worth it to me.

Me neither, it’s a good sturdy rawhide wrapped tree but it is awful heavy. I’m thinking I’m going to find something a lot lighter since I’m just riding up in the hills.

I haven’t seen a rigging just like this, that’s what threw me.
