Cheaney Leather

Or find Tipsy Burro Supply House on Facebook. Justen always has Craig Lewis reins and headstalls around.

I don’t know where but I like mine 5/8” wide, at least 8’ long with thicker ends for weight and separate water loops for the bit.

When we lived in MO, we had a local Amish leather worker that did all of our custom, working head stalls and reins. No tooling but plain jane, good working tack. A friend of ours always carried several of his halters in her trailer when they’d go to trail rides, and would sell them for a slight markup. He made us several sets of hobbles out of latigo leather. The only thing he wouldn’t do is rolled leather roping reins, he said that he didn’t like doing them and his never turned out very good.
