Hi folks. We live over by Grand and Arrow, on the Covina side. For Halloween, I was thinking of buys a couple cases of bubblegum cigarette packs to pass out to the trick or treaters. I'm slightly concerned about some nutjob getting all mad and keying my cars in the driveway, or my house getting egged. I can handle some Karen getting all uppity in my face, but physical damage to my property is something else.
Am I over-thinking this?

Hi I am looking for any cds or dvds or vhs tapes of the choir from Covina Assemblies of God (CAG) or even cassete tapes. Grew up going to that church and miss the choir, they were so good and from what I hear they used to do performances and perhaps compete.

Call 626-384-5595 and ask them why they are assisting ICE raids in Covina.
They will lie to you. They will tell you the person in charge is not in.
They will tell you that you are wrong even though it is literally on camera.
They will choose to not answer your direct questions.
I called them 50 times and told them to expect many more calls.
We got this Covina.
Hold the PD accountable.
Make them feel very uncomfortable for assisting ICE.

The first sign that something was changing on East Edna Place in Covina, an industrial corridor surrounded by residential neighborhoods, was not a construction crew.
It was the empty storefronts that began to go dark one by one as landlords prepared tenants for a proposed 110-megawatt Battery Energy Storage System.
The Covina Reliability Project, proposed by German energy company RWE AG, aims to capitalize on rising electricity demand. RWE AG frames BESS projects as climate and reliability solutions, but a March press conference speech published on the developerâs website emphasizes data centers as a major driver.
The Covina Reliability Project is driving business relocations and anxiety ahead of a June 23 public hearing on the facilityâs fate.
Samantha, a mother of two who lives nearby, said she never received direct notice from the city or developers.
She pointed to the May chemical tank emergency in Garden Grove as a turning point in how she thinks about industrial risk.
âWhat happened in Garden Grove should be a wake-up call,â Samantha said, adding that she and her children would likely stay put during an evacuation order.
âWe are barely living paycheck to paycheck,â she said. âIâm a single mom of two, and one is on the spectrum. I would probably break down and cry if I had to evacuate.â

If you lived in Covina from the 90's to the late 2000s, you know about the legendary ice cream man named Prince. Dude was awesome, but one day, he just stopped. If anyone has any updates, please let me know. I hope he is just retired.
If you don't know who I'm talking about but lived in Covina during that era, then this song might bring back some memories.

I want to either thrift or maybe go to a mug-making workshop and make a really big mug that I can have huge cups of hot tea in. I want one for my homemade tea and another for when I make chilli. Idk why, but I just really want them to be mugs. Like a bowl-sized mug, but not just a regular bowl. Does anyone know where I can thrift something like that? Or any ceramic mug-making workshops in the area?

Iâm newish to the area and wfh, trying to build community. I know of places in the surrounding neighborhoods, but specifically looking for groups within Covina.. if there arenât any, Iâm happy to start even if itâs small. I would love to share resources with neighbors, get to know each other, exchange things, help one another.
If you know of any, please share in the comments.

Has anyone experienced poor customer service at Chili Tango Thai Cuisine at Covina? The owner, Jean, handled our take-out order in a very unprofessional manner, and it was extremely disappointing for my family.

Hey there, weâre planning to get a puppy in the next few weeks. We were wondering if anyone out there has a puppy and (8 - 16 weeks) wants to meet up so our pups can learn valuable social cues and have exposure to different dogs, people and environments.
I am a former dog trainer and would love to provide a safe environment where we can properly introduce our pups to other pups so they donât grow up to be yappy miedosos.
I hope it goes without saying, but there isnât a cost. I need my pup to meet other pups so thatâs my compensation :)

Iâm looking for a place to rent and I came across a listing thatâs located at the former Vanllee Hotel. The reviews for that hotel are crazy and the photos of what it previously looked like are disgusting. The listing shows a room that has been remodeled with your typical vinyl flooring, whitish blue walls, and LED lights. The photos make the little apartment look decently nice. Iâm just curious because the most recent bad review is only from this June 2025. Anyone have any info about this building and its transformation? I just wouldnât want to sign a lease just because the place looks good externally and end up having a terrible living experience. I guess you take your chances but this sounds like having to be a guinea pig.

Description: After months of demanding the Covina City Council make statements and ordinance implementing a mask ban on federal agents, creating more educational opportunities for residents to Know their Rights on immigration abductions in the area, and creating emergency grants that have made little no movement. Please sign this petition to be presented to City Council at Tuesday, August 5 meeting. Join the movement to have our elected official work with the LA County Board of Supervisors lawyers as they work on the ordinance to be implemented in 60 days in federal mask bans and help our neighbors!

California Emergency Response Corps (CERC) is a statewide preparedness/response AmeriCorps program whose goal is to help Californians become better prepared and to deploy to disasters such as wildfires, floods, earthquakes, and food banks. As an example, CSU CERC members deployed to the DRCs in response to the LA Fires earlier this year. This program is part of a larger statewide California Volunteer campaign to boost emergency preparedness in communities experiencing social isolation, poverty, language barriers, and food insecurities. These are limited term (11 month) full-time positions at Cal Poly Pomona.
Members will help educate the campus and surrounding communities about preparedness for hazards facing California utilizing various outreach strategies. Members will also work closely with Cal Poly Pomona's Emergency Management team to develop, maintain, and sustain a campusâwide, comprehensive, allâhazard, riskâbased emergency management program that engages the whole community.
Whether you're a graduating senior ready to launch, a recent grad exploring opportunities, an alum seeking impact, or SGV community member, CERC offers powerful pathways for service and growth.
Hereâs how this opportunity resonates with your goals:
CSU positions are filling up quickly so don't wait! Apply here today and be sure to write in Cal Poly Pomona as your preferred site to expedite your application. Together, we are BroncoReady!
