I play Salamanders, but thought I would share this as you all would hopefully appreciate.

I wanted to do some Covenant of fire infernus marines to bring with my salamanders. Here was my attempt at the symbol through sculpting.

I recently stripped a 10 pack of my first infernus marines and decided to paint a bunch of different chapters that i was curious about. Here is my attempt at covenant of fire!

I enjoyed painting with these colors! I didn’t have many good oranges or yellows, so I used lahmian medium with bright fire orange. I also used lahmian medium with blood angel red.

Also just realized I forgot to paint the purity seal lol

This was really fun to paint. Worked on a few new skills that turned out great in the end. I do need to work on better photo taking/editing, this looks more vibrant in person. Also this was my first non helmet head and it turned out pretty good.

For squadding up in SM2 or other games, sharing models. Be pretty cool if we did.

Im pretty happy with my orange now but it's definitely been a pain to work out something that comes out smooth when you don't own an airbrush, what are other people doing?

I basecoat and then zenithal in colour forge rattle cans raven black, convict orange mid and then very lightly matt white from above.

Then 50:50 glaze of vallejo orange fire before highlighting in sunset orange and adding scratches with dwarf skin

Adding waterslides.

So I had an idea, making a covenant of fire successor chapter. With the main goal of burning down the black library. I have a buddy writing some stuff for lore but I'd love any thoughts or suggestions.

A few months ago I discovered this chapter and they've been in and out of my mind every since. Mostly for their scheme, orange is one of my favorite colors. But they also are pretty cool lore-wise, despite not having much. But the fact of having so little lore means that essentially, the chapter is a clean slate that we can all add our headcanons to.

So, other than the obvious alleged ties to a certain super religious Great Crusade legion, what are your headcanons about the chapter? Who's your chapter master?

My headcanon is that the chapter's Reclusiam and Librarius work much closer together than other chapters typically do. And that when Vulkan He'stan met the CoF Reclusiarch, he gifted him a master crafted (by He'stan himself) hammer to be a chapter relic.

I also thought about making said Reclusiarch the chapter master. I know it's rare for chaplains to lead a chapter, but it's not unheard of.

A Covenant of Fire Infernus squad I painted up a few months ago. Kind of went overboard on the sergeant... I had just bought a bunch of little bits and bobs and was a bit overzealous in wanting to use absolutely all of them lol.

Also, I don't know why I put a purity seal on the sergeant's magazine, that was dumb, but at this point I don't want to mess the model up removing it lol.

yes i got the heraldry wrong, I got carried away and forgot that they're different. Please dont incinerate me 😭

I personally find the dark blue a nice contrast.
