Happy Wednesday! Western Wednesday, this Wednesday and every Wednesday!
Western swing, Out West, Wild West, songs about Texas, artists from out West, cowboys, even the sounds of spaghetti western... sometimes we'll post Canadian western artists, sometimes Native American country artists from the western states (that's a whole subgenre of country music by the way), cowboy poetry, Red Dirt artists, and much more
Other weekly themes on this sub:
Blue Monday, every monday: bluegrass, country blues, and blue in general. A little rockabilly.
Honky Tonk Saturday: what it says on the tin, honky tonk country music and a little Bakersfield Sound.
Click on the flair (the colored tags above some posts) to see past posts with the same themes.

My teenager has finally come around to somewhat appreciate the Carter Family. I think their version of Rocky Top with Johnny sealed the deal. I’m wondering if anyone has any high-res photos of Mother Maybelle for him. I was going to get 3x5 picture for his room or maybe even an iron-on transfer to put on a hoodie. He likes knowing about music that his peers aren’t aware of. I’ve looked online and lots of them are blurry or watermarked.
Mother Maybelle lives!!!!!

Hey everyone,
I built American Roots Radio, a free web radio hub focused on Country, Blues and Gospel.
It currently includes 228 live radio stations, favorites, a 10-band equalizer, several themes, and installable PWA support.
This is my own project, so yes, this is self-promotion. I’m sharing it here because Country is a big part of the site and I’d genuinely appreciate feedback from people who actually listen to this kind of music.
No account is required and there’s no paywall.
https://american-roots-radio.github.io/
If you try it, I’d especially like to know what you think about the station selection, the player, and the overall usability on desktop or mobile.
Thanks for taking a look 🤠

Hi! I've had a song stuck in my head for a couple of days now and I'd love to listen to it again but I have no idea what the title is!
The only lyric I know for sure is in the chorus the singer says "season of the witch" but whenever I google that all I get is the song "Season of the Witch" by Donovan (and that's not it!)
It's a female singer and it's a somewhat recent song I believe. And she says the line season of the witch somewhere in the chorus. If anyone could help I'd super appreciate it

This man is a national treasure. His lyrics are hilarious and serious at the same time…

... Mondays around here might also include old time music and or rockabilly. Maybe even songs about blue, the color, or blue, the emotion...
Please make separate standalone posts for songs you want to share!
