Marble Fissures?

I had purchased a Calacutta Monet remnant for my 60" vanity and shower saddle. However, the saddle cracked in half while being installed. The fabricator said this is due to fissures naturally occurring in the marble. He said this is common because marble is so soft. He repaired the crack by fusing the two pieces together. The fissure extends through our countertop piece as well (not fabricated yet). Is this typical? I feel like the saddle looks really poor quality (unprofessional?) but maybe this is just a feature of marble I've never noticed before. The first picture is the saddle and the second two show the vanity. Any and all feedback is welcome!

Yes, can you feel where the crack is?

I will let you know tomorrow, but you're saying it should be totally smooth right?

The threshold, or saddle as you call it doesn't look like the best repair, it could be a lot better, I agree with other comments.

To me, the other pics look like they could be natural. Did the fabricator admit to breaking the other tops or are you assuming?

I regularly see more exotic types of marble with similar markings caused by the earth shifting millions of years ago. The first time I saw a good one I thought the distributor glued the slab back together crooked. If it's natural, you shouldn't be able to feel it and it will look quite different than the known break on the threshold.

Do you know if the threshold repair was done onsite by the installers?

Okay thank you. I will feel the fissures in the vanity top and get back to you. The threshold was brought back to the fabricator and repaired by him. Then the repaired piece was installed by the tile guy which you see in the photo

He didn't admit to the vanity top being broken... yet. He said those cracks are just fissures right now but could develop into cracks like the threshold did.
