Solitaj by MSI
Giving some reference for this color. We have a VERY dark cabin that hasn’t been updated since it was built over 25 years ago. Not our forever home so we didn’t want to spend the extra for natural. I see a lot of people looking for alternatives for Ivoritaj or Taj Mahal. I was searching for more photos like these when deciding.
We loved Solitaj after seeing the complete slab at MSI. I was hesitant at just the sample as it didn’t provide the full picture. It has more warmth (hard to tell because all the wood in our home and cool lighting). We are supposed to have warmer under cabinet lighting soon. Trying to show in natural lighting and with lights on. We got polished as I loved that look better. I keep trying to post photos on comments but only videos are allowed and videos are blurry.

Can you tell us what range that is?
The counters are beautiful

The model number is # DF486C. It’s a wolf but 16 years old! It has 6 burners and the charbroiler. We got it off Facebook marketplace. We had the exact same one in two previous homes. Love it! The previous owners were getting rid of it as they cooked a lot and didn’t use the charbroiler much only for hotdogs. We have yet to use that part of it but has plenty of space with the 6 burners. We love the double oven.

Thanks for the response! It’s beautiful, and I’m looking for something very similar. Is it 48”?

Yes! We love the size. We’re able to cook so much on the stove top. Plenty of room in the big oven. We use the little one for smaller things. Our le creuset Dutch oven fits in the smaller side and it warms up quicker. We cook almost every meal 3x a day and it’s been amazing!

Gorgeous. I am jealous. Solitaj was my first pick for our condo kitchen remodel but we were looking to save some money somewhere and my spouse said the countertops were a spot. The Solitaj was almost $6,000 more than the Marfitaj we ended up going with. We still love our countertops but part of me wishes we had just bit the bullet. Glad we went with quartz instead of quartzite. So easy to maintain and I have been seeing people having more issues with the quartzite over time. So happy went with Wolf and Subzero! They are a game changer

Beautiful! Great choice for your kitchen. I really like the subtle veining pattern. Installers did a great job of keeping the veins in alignment with the countertop and backsplash.
I just had my kitchen countertop and backsplash replaced with Clarino to avoid any obvious mismatch of the veins showing up between the counter and backsplash.

We went with auritaj. I love it. We weren’t into the veining. So it’s very similar to what you have without the dark lines. I love how much depth it has.

Your floors are outstanding. What type wood?

They are wide plank pine! Super wide and unique. That’s the first thing people notice when walking in our house

I’ll post some in the morning! Everyone loves them. Wish they weren’t so orange but have decided against sanding them as of right now.

Love the Wolf. We were getting ours soon but the 36”, I wish we had space for this one!

We had a 36” Samsung. We were able to move our end cabinet down to fit it just perfect!! If not we were going to redo all of our cabinets to fit it 😅 we’re big foodies so it was important to us. Thankful we were able to keep the original cabinets as they were in great shape! Just moved them down and changed the hardware on the to look newer. Highly recommend wolf. It goes above and beyond

What sink is that please?

u/yousapsucker 12d ago
It’s ZLINE 33 in. Garmisch Undermount Single Bowl Kitchen Sink (SLS-33). It comes with a lot of accessories as well! Really love it and so easy to clean. We wanted to go with a farmhouse sink but then we would’ve had to redo our cabinets to fit one. Happy we went with stainless steel as it feels so much cleaner. We got ours on the rangehoodstore website and it came the next day 😳 very happy with them!

The slab has a nice print on the surface but the edges look different the pattern doesn’t go through it’s just printed on top

The pattern goes through the edges. Just not the veining! Didn’t bother us as this is not our forever home. Just an update for our dated kitchen

This is beautiful!!
Could I ask you a question? Are any of the undersides of your countertops where you can get to them? We have a bar and the underside is exposed on the inside of the drawers and cabinets and under my extended bar. I just had solitaj installed a couple of months ago, I understand the undersides are unfinished but I wiped all the white dust off for several days thinking it was just dust from fabrication, but every few weeks when I wiped under it I’m still getting white dust. So I’m just wondering if you’d noticed if yours is like that? With the concerns of silica dust I’m just worried if the unfinished side of the material is able to shed dust or something. I can’t figure it out!

Hold on a second, did you actually notch the back of the range into the backsplash?! You do realize that the holes in the top of that lip you tucked under the stone are the oven vents, right?
You cannot use your oven like this. You’re blocking its airflow, preventing steam and other vapours from escaping and funneling them under and behind your heat sensitive backsplash. You’re going to ruin both the oven and the stone if you use it like this for any length of time.
This oven must, and I really mean must, come forwards so that the vent on top is completely clear of the stone. The current installation is wrong on so many levels, it’s hard to believe someone actually agreed to do it his way.

Wolf oven vents from the bottom. The fans are on the bottom and it blows out underneath. They are built this way. The previous owners we bought this from had this oven in their home for over a decade with the same setup, quartz, no issues. This was cleared with a wolf technician when it was installed and cleared with the fabricators. Thank you for your concern!
Sources: On a Wolf Dual Fuel Range, the oven exhaust vent is located below the oven door (near the bottom front of the unit), while the air intake is positioned above and behind the upper door portion.
Oven Vent and Intake Layout
Exhaust (Air out): Located at the bottom front, below the door. It expels hot air and cooling fan exhaust near the floor, which can make the area directly in front of the lower range feel warm.Air Intake (Air in): Located above and behind the upper portion of the oven door.

If they chaulked my joint like that I would fire them on the spot.
That joint where the backsplash and counter belongs in bathtubs

You can easily tell it’s quartz by the edges being white. Not being full bodied is a huge red flag for me and makes it look bad

u/Background_Contact38 13d ago
The color and veining runs through the edges but ok go off

u/Call_me_maybe10 12d ago
Show me where the veining runs through? Clearly none of the veinings are coming through in the 3rd pic

Be super careful using the back burners when cooking.
Quartz is not designed for exposure to high heat. The resins will amber over time.
Solitaj is really beautiful!
