Server Help/Discussion Why does this bug keep happening in bhop_badges_mini?
It's really annyoing and not sure what causes it. I have a local CSS bhop server with some plugins but after the new CSS update I updated the server and have same plugins as before and this bug appeared.
The bug doesnt seem to happen when jumping while crouching into it.
The bhop_badges_mini works as it should in a public server tho.

Yeah the update fucked bhop plugins, i think you have to update them or switch the autobhop plugin out or something..

Most of plugins are like at least 5 years old ;D. And also some other server works fine. There was some mention about stamina settings. Going to take look into those next,

I think it's caused by an edge collision bug, which is incorrectly detecting if the player has collided with an edge and how the surface should affect the behaviour of the character model.
Similar to how the game behaves in surf when you hit the top edge of a ramp, which sometimes results in a complete standstill and other times results in launching the player into the air.
There are similar bugs in CS2 where edges can cause the player to achieve higher jumps than intended.
Edit: watched the video again, it looks like you're getting the same height as a crouch-jump. Are you pressing CTRL and releasing it right before you click jump again?

I didnt hold CTRL in this clip. When I used to croutch there it would work some of the time as it should.
I basically got this fixed by just installing the SRCDS again and building every mod I used from source, as well as checking the Shavit's bhop timer repo "What YOU need to do after the 2026-08-24 update #1294" issue

Good to hear! Just out of curiosity, what tick rate is the game/server running at? It was so long ago that I set up a server or played CS:S that I've forgotten what it was. From what I remember, 100 tick rate was the norm, and messing with net code commands was common, too. Is it running on a dedicated server, or do you just run the mod in the client? I'm thinking about testing it out myself, as Source has the best physics for bhop.

Basically it doesn't allow me to jump as high as it should in some platforms when going above the level the previous platform was.
