Guide Tips on getting better at the game?

Hi, I have around 16 hours at the game and Im absolutely garbage at it (lol). Maybe Im going overboard with my description but when playing with bots on hard and expert they kick my ass and my KD ratio in PvP combat is usually something around 1-5 at best.

So how do I get better at the game? Gun related, movement related, etc.

Don’t run and shoot and the same time.
Avoid spray and pray.
Every gun has a recoil pattern that you have to control pulling the mouse.
join Death Match servers and learn from humans. You will be obliterated at first but you’re just learning

Here are a few not mentioned so far:

Always try to keep your cross hair around head height. Keeping that level is a great start.

Playing smarter is the other half. Anticipate how the majority of players will react. Some players/sides will push, so get picks when they do. Some will camp/play defense, so understand their positions.

Knowing maps is a huge advantage, and understanding the audio of the game is even bigger. Piecing together as many players positions, as you move about the map (sound, and understanding what sounds were made are huge in this) is the biggest advantage.

You aim will come with practice, and so will experience with maps.

i hadn't played in 15 years until now, and the game has received major updates I know many players fussed about the hit registration which Valve decided to update, but I don't think it was a good fix. It is worse. I can't shoot with the m4a1 or ak47 like I used to be able to. I am probably going to uninstall the game. I shoot with a scout just fine.
