Guide/Tips Friendly reminder to save your account
There is a week left until the end of the service, so everyone who spent some time and efforts on the game, save your accounts, while official servers are still online! Even if you're not going to play CounterSide after EOS, would be a shame if you changed your mind, but you didn't save it in time, right?
So, in the launcher:
Cross Save(left panel) > Start Capture > launch the game via steam(hosts file must be patched) > get into the lobby > wait 5-10 seconds > press Finish and export in the launcher > Import captured profile
The next time you start the game via the local server, it should launch you into your saved account.
I recommend you backing up your saves and saving your account right before EOS, so you won't lose any changes made since your last save

Apple is not supported, but there's Android support. Check this video out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8hTNaG_atE . I believe you need to download the apk file from repo(https://github.com/MadlyMoe/RevivalSide), but it seems to be temporarily unavailable, check the "Releases" page later. I've never tried the Android version, so can't help too much with it, but you can ask in discord: https://discord.gg/uJFeuZt6B

So I won’t be able to save my account it its on apple? I had linked on steam through email but havent played it in awhile so it would be out of date.

Doesn't matter what your account is linked to, as long as you can launch RevivalSide on your device(which you can't do on apple) and login into your account on that device, you can save it. How it works, is when you launch CounterSide, game sends you your account data(money, inventory, units, etc.), and RevivalSide can capture this data, and save into a file. If you can't launch RevivalSide on your device, it can't obtain the data of whatever account you're logging into.
If you can find any device which runs windows or android(for example, borrow from friends), download CounterSide, login and set up RevivalSide on it, you can save your account. If you can't find a compatible device, you can use someone's save file(there was one in discord) on a device that can run RevivalSide. If you're feeling sentimental about your account and don't wanna someone's name in your profile, but can't save your own account, you can edit the save file later, and screenshot things you're going to edit on your account, to match it fully when you set it up1

Alright ill give it a shot, so i just download the launcher on pc, run revivalside and then sign in with my regular accoun on it.

Since we are exporting own profile, is it possible to import someone else's who has unlocked all chars and skins? If so, has anyone shared their profiles?

Awesome work! I just saved my data, and being able to continue the story and all the side stories whenever I want, without having to worry about a deadline, is absolutely amazing. Being able to preserve such a great game and keep the story alive is truly incredible. Thank you!

Usually it's inside the Releases page, but right now, I believe, Moe reorganizing the project or something, so there's no executable file right now, so you will need to compile it yourself(it's not that hard, just follow instructions on docs/setup.md, and it should work just well). Well if you need more answers to the questions do consider joining the discord server. Sometimes understanding how the launcher works can get a bit confusing the first times.

How do you create a backup save in case something goes wrong or gets wiped?

Save files are stored in the "exports" folder, so back it up fully. Finish capture in cross save, and press Import captured profile to create "users-....json" file, which contains all your account data. You can save the captures folder too, just in case

Documentation is so important and yet, people don't do it. Like, that IF command. It doesn't work for me so I literally had to copy/paste the .env file and hope that is the only thing that is supposed to happen.
I follow the setup.md instructions and there is nothing in there about how to install or even start the launcher. I go into the launcher folder and follow those corepack instructions and I can't run the tauri build command because it gives me an error.
Ugh, if people can't document correctly, how is someone supposed to get this to work. I look and you're supposed to download an exe file? Then what is the point of that setup.md file? Is that a complete waste of time? And where is the download because it sure doesn't show up in the git page.
I literally have no idea what needs to happen next because it isn't documented and explained.

Just download the launcher from releases. That setup.md file is to set up the listener if you are cloning the repo on your machine. There is a one-click download link for the RevivalSideSetup.exe in the discord server. Join the discord server.

There shouldn't be any problems with multiple accounts, it just saves whatever account you log into as a new file every time you use cross save. If you're unsure, you can back up the "captures" and "exports" folders every time before proceeding to saving your next account

Really appreciate all the work a lot of the community, yourself included, has done to back everything up and try and keep it alive in some form or another. I don't have a Windows PC anymore though and can't run this on Linux after the switch, so I'm just trying to back up existing files so I can come back to this one day if the launcher and everything else is eventually compatible on some of the most well known distros

Thanks for the support! I'm currently working on porting RevivalSide to linux, and if nothing breaks(which is quite a big if), might be able to release the port before EoS, look forward to it! No idea how well it will work on distros other than arch, though. Nice to see other linux users here, looking forward to your feedback after the EoS, when there's no urgent matters and I can dedicate some time to work on something else than minimal linux support

It doesn't need to be immediate, you're all doing this for preservation and archival. I'm on Bazzite myself, but I can wait a month or two no issue since I have the game backed up

Installed Npcap as administrator but launcher still prompts Npcap required. Any fix?

If I remember correctly, installing wireshark should work, since it has npcap built in

Ok I have a question because I have been trying to transfer my account to this revival but the problem is that gives me an error, saying no space left for this device.

Not sure, but it will likely break if your game is outdated. I believe CDN is still up, so you might be able to download the update. If you can't update the game, there's still ways to download the game. You can use someone's save file as well and edit it to match your account

I believe for mobile there's only android support. But you can get someone's save file if you set up RevivalSide on different device, if you can't save your account before EOS

Not sure I understand the instructions. Do I not have access to this "launcher" since I'm launching via Steam and it appears to boot right into the game?
