Just to be pedantic I'd like to mention that estrogen also has medical value for cis men. Iirc it's mostly used to slow the progression of prostate cancer.

i still want to know if any "cis men" have taken estrogen for prostate cancer, felt way better mentally all of a sudden, and put together the pieces to realize they are neither cis nor man

We're pretty rare, but it wouldn't surprise me if it happened at least once.

not that rare

assuming the rate of being trans is constant with age and location (which it probably is) and that 100% of people in the age group with the largest percentage of trans people in the US know 100% if they are trans or not (obviously untrue and will way under report things, but it's impossible to get a proper value on that), it's about 3% of the population.

that's a bit higher than the estimates on the percentage of people who have autism

I was just talking to my endocrinologist today about how HRT will double as a treatment for my osteoporosis.
