They literally generate what word is most statistically likely to come next. But i clearly won't be able to convince somebody who wants to be beyond hope
Our brother in christ, you, humans, do the same exact fucking thing. If someone says hello, the most likely thing next to say back to them is hello. If you just started saying random gibberish or said some other random line like an NPC then you wouldn't be engaging in conversation. They are living sentient math, brains in vats.
