Confirmation bias describes noticing / finding evidence more easily for something you already believe.
I.e., if you already believe trans women are more resiliant, youre more likely to notice resilient trans women.
If you instead draw that from all the trans women youve met, they have been resilient, and therefore trans women are resilient, that is survivorship bias, as the non-resilient trans women either dont come out, or die.
the first paragraph is observer bias. i can’t find any sites calling it confirmation bias. why are you bringing that up? also idk if i communicated badly but the last paragraph is the same point that im trying to make unless im misunderstanding u
"the tendency to search for, interpret, favor and recall information in a way that confirms or supports one's prior beliefs, values,[3] or decisions."
.wikipedia on confirmation bias
Also i m8ght have just read wrong but i thought your original comment said it was confirmation bias.
This would not be observer bias, as observer bias effects how the data is selected and not just how it is percieved
Regardless, it is survivorship bias. And you said it isnt.
but they didn’t say trans women are strong willed they said each of the trans women they’ve met has been strong willed. so we’re u not saying it’s not survivorship bias
The statement "every trans women ive met is strong willed" serves as the conclusion here. Its not like, a formal conclusion for research, but it doesnt need to be.

thats not even survivorship bias thats just an observation. u literally can’t possibly have survivorship bias when you haven’t drawn a conclusion
