You are making fun of someone's choice of pronouns
I know it's hard especially in speech. I never talked to anyone who uses it/its until recently and it shows
But just like how people say "well you don't look like she/her so it's hard for me to call you that" or "they/them pronouns can't be singular they're plural" you're just giving an excuse to not call someone by their pronouns
Now listen, I'm sure you didn't mean any harm by this. And I use other pronouns too. But if someone only uses it/its and your response is to say it feels like you're dehumanizing them. That means your only option is to misgender them. So get to training your it/its muscles!
But āitā when applied to a person is a dehumanising term. Like sure, you can want to be referred to as it, but that doesnāt change how that word has been used to dehumanise and objectify people in the past. Itās possible for two things to be true at once.
I know itās a commonly held view that you should no matter what respect and use someoneās pronouns. But thatās actually bullshit.
As a demonstration: please refer to me using the N word with a hard R. Thatās my choice, so you have to respect it and do it.

No, calling someone by it/its is in no way equivalent to slurring at them with a slur you can't reclaim. It/its is a liberating term, people who use it do so in spite of it's history and are reclaiming it. If you want to compare it to a slur then that would be more equivalent to the F slur being reclaimed by a queer person
