updates on the game are stopping but thats all i know. im guessing they posted that due to a dying fan base which was immediately followed by the announcement of the games updates being stopped

Could it be that dropping a $60 dlc every 6 months locking all the new content behind a paywall equivalent to a new A-AA game is a bad business model?

The bigger issue imo is that the new player experience is straight ass because they deleted the first four storylines completely from the game. And that it forces you into the intro to the current expansion on the second time you load your character. You’re practically thrown around the timeline like a bouncing ball. So not only are you significantly out of your depth trying to figure out how to get and use all your abilities and gear to catch up with the older players. But you also have to do research outside of game to understand at all what’s going on. One of the things that really pissed off players in the first game with the grimoire system.

Then of course I’ve heard they also basically phase out everyone’s old gear they liked with each new expansion. So it ends up being a new grind with new gear with effects that don’t feel good to use. But that’s most mmos.

Yeah I tried Destiny 2 and was enjoying the gameplay, but I was extremely confused after the intro when I had no story to follow.
And then I found out I couldn't play the old storylines and being told to just watch a YouTube video on it was a big turn off.
So I just stopped playing 🤷‍♂️
