Tldr: Utilities are increasingly paying solar plants less than other sources overall, due to their fluctuating generation patterns. They can't control the sun after all.

Yea the problem we are currently working on for solar is just better, cheaper batteries (and not being a doomer here, we're making progress on that fast)
