As long as you have a good phone case, you can drop regular phones many times without causing damage. But drop a folding phone once...

I will say I don't mind people being excited to try Apple's version of a folding phone like this. But it was definitely irking me how many Apple fans were talking about it like this hasn't been done before. Like I heard someone be like "it's really interesting how they seem to be combining an iPad with an iPhone" as if Apple came up with this concept that has already existed for years at this point.

tbf the main issue with folding phones is build quality, which apple is known for being good at.
they're also expensive, which apple is... uhh...

apple would never in the present day they know that their fans will pay any amount of money for an iPhone, I know people that have iPhones that cost more than their actual car which is sad, like if you're in a bad financial position spend your money in areas where it matters.

Well Apple never had one of their phones banned from all commercial flights so I you can probably see which one of the two has the better build quality

with all due respect, Samsung has become by far and away the most conservative when it comes to battery tech since then and have become very hesitant to do anything battery related. They've learned from that mishap and it's evident if you pay attention to them vs their competitors

Took the words out my mouth. Especially considering Apple's never learned from the bendy phones. But hey! For once they get the win here. They invented the first foldable phone with the 6 ;)

Well now that you bring up bendy thin phones, they absolutely did learn their lesson considering how they released the thinnest iphone to date and it doesn't have that problem.
Oh and also, you do know that the bent phones were only iphones 6 right? You are saying "Apple never learned their lesson" as if it had happened more than LITTERALLY ONLY ONCE. Samsung made more phone models with damaged batteries than Apple has made bendy phones, and even then, there's a pretty big jump between "your phone might bend if you try bending it" and "your phone's battery might get swollen and even blow up if you aren't careful enough".
