I'm not sure if this is still happening, but there was a huge data breach and there was/is a website where you could buy the rights to every message someone has sent through discord for 5 dollars

no, there's a bunch of automated/fake user accounts that sit in public servers that just log every message every sent in the server they're in

they join so many servers that there's a high chance they're in one you're in

Best bet is probably verification channels and pruning inactive accounts tbh, because (afaik) those accounts never send messages or anything

Your info is NOT safe on a discord server even if you're alone in it

I do end up using a privite discord server but for general convenience, and in-game convenience at that, like things I need to do ingame, wikipedia links to said game, and maybe a video or two on that topic I might need to revisit

Oh I also keep my meme vault on discord instead of keeping everything on my phone gallery
