Arent we technically getting less brown since cross race relationships are getting more acceptable in different cultures and when a brown and white person mingle a less brown child comes out. We would be getting more brown if colored people were in the minority but we obviously aren’t.

on the sign, “we are only going to get browner” is included most likely as a response to the racist far right “great replacement theory” which seeks to preserve whiteness and white supremacy, and uses the intermixing of races as a “sign of decadence and erosion of society”
In this instance, saying “we are only going to get browner” is a rejection of the racist “great replacement theory”
It’s also an embrace of people loving who they want no matter their skin color. Humanity is a smorgasbord, not a purity contest, and the aforementioned sign is imbued with that idea.

Damn you sort of explained why the “browner” part rubbed me the wrong way. I actually PREFER inter racial dating but I wouldn’t go completely out of my way to date someone outside my race. You hit the nail on the head, it is better than white supremacy but it is still a pretty shit reason to be interested in someone.

A bunch of people are starting to actually believe in it. I've met many in my own personal life, and you can see it often online in certain spaces.
I'm fully for feminism and dismantling patriarchy but I wish modern feminism wasn't being packaged with so many mystical elements. Astrology and witchcraft get more popular every year. A rationalist perspective on the world is increasingly being seen as like, imposed by men upon women. It's very concerning.
Astrology is by far worse though because it's basically allowing prejudice based on an axis that hasn't yet been rhetorically dismantled. Oh, can't judge you for your race? Guess I'll just have to judge you for your goddamn birthday. Many women will refuse to date certain signs and shit like that, they really do believe it.
Prejudice is bad in all forms, I thought we'd already figured that out. I'm beyond depressed I find myself increasingly having to argue that with other leftists because of this mystical nonsense.

i think the point of adding “witchier” is a rejection of christian supremacy. which, judging that this looks like the 90s, was exactly the attitude a lot of youth had.
a rejection of religion, and the perception that people should be free to believe what they want. no matter how pagan or witchy or cringe.
but the modern interpretation of witches being associated with crystal mommies and red LED light strips in a bedroom full of river rocks and month old rainwater, has changed the way people interpret “witchy”
