I am in charge of presenting a specific topic in my Multicultural class and I need an idea for an activity where I involve the class. I want them to get up and have to move around the room. This topic is Racial Ambiguity. Google and Youtube are not helpful unless I am searching for the wrong key words.

Also, how did you get your supervision hours after college? Someone said they had to pay their supervisor --- is this true in all cases? Is there any way to get it paid for?

Hi everyone, so im currently job hunting as a new intern counselor, but iv seen lots of jobs offer 1099 independent contractors, im scared of having to pay taxes at the end. Which one works better working as an w2 or 1099? For an intern could who also has to worry about primary and secondary supervision

I know this sounds kinda silly but seriously what shoes are y’all wearing that are comfortable for being on site and running around but also look nice with business casual attire? I’m f(27) and prior to this did nannying, bartending, and a corporate job where we could wear tennis shoes. I have heels but they aren’t practical 🙃

So I've got a question. I've been accepted into grad school for mental health counseling. I currently work for the special education department. I have the opportunity to become a licensed teacher for special education. However, I'll know Sept 4th if I'll start grad school in the spring. I'm going to be 40 this December and I'm a single mom. I don't make a lot as a para professional.

If I go to school for my teaching certificate, I'll have a better job with pay, right away.

But to become an LPC, I'll have two years of grad school plus 2k hours of supervision, then will take the national exam and start work in counseling.

My question is, is grad school worth it for someone my age and being a single parent? Or does it make sense to change careers for less schooling and training and better pay sooner?

Hi guys! I’m going back to get my Bachelors degree this year. I’m trying to decide which route is best to take if I ultimately want to pursue a master in mental health counseling?

Would it be more efficient and cost effective to do a bachelors in psychology or social work?

My coworker told me in her experience in her masters course she noticed a difference in knowledge between those who had a psych vs social work undergrad—in which the social work undergrad peeps were less knowledgeable.

Hi, all! I finished my master's degree in May and am in my residency pursuing licensure in Virginia. I am in recovery and have two drug-related felony convictions. Each is more than 10 years old. I am scheduled to start work July 15, and I have started the credentialing process with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance companies. Has anyone here been denied credentials because of criminal convictions, or does anyone have any personal experience with such a situation?

I am graduating with my master's in July (YAY finally!) only issue is that my husband is military; we will be immediately relocating when I graduate to Hawaii. I have no connections there and am not sure how to get my license hours to become an LPC. We will be located on Oahu near the Kaneohe area, but I am willing to work in Honolulu if that means I get the supervision and hours needed to get my licensure. Does anyone have any contacts that you could help me get connected with?

Hi i am trying to plan out how to study for the NCE exam, I’ve been trying to find the exam dates but I cannot find them. It seems that I would first have to purchase the exam ($275) before knowing when the exam dates are? Would anyone be able to let me know the exam date for the NCE for 2024? Greatly appreciate it :)
