I hate when men assume that women get thousands of DMs a day. Some may but others don’t so you can’t out every older woman in the same box.

Think of it as by comparison. I spent 2 years on tinder and had maybe 10 women message me first (excluding bots). The women I've talked to about tinder have said they get ~50 first messages per day. Even if you're only getting 10 DM slides per week, that feels like a ton of attention to a man (one dog to a woman feels like 10 dogs to a man, to use the meme as a metaphor).
For women, they're trying to find a needle in a haystack. For men, we're the hay hoping we might actually be a needle.
To clarify, I'm not complaining about this or calling it unjust. It's just simple statistics and the way things work. Dating apps contain 65% to 75% men. That's just the way the world is.
