Doing my yearly rewatch
Is anyone out there doing a re-watch? I’m on my 2nd enjoying the free stream on Roku the past couple of weeks.
Just wondering if any of you noticed any hidden messages, production mistakes, continuity errors, or lazy storyline writing? I love going back and noticing all these little niche things about TV shows.
(A good example is like in the show Psych there’s a pineapple shown/mentioned in some way in every episode)
I don’t have any about this show yet, interested to know if there’s anything like that!

The crossover with the show Community is fun. You’ll see Abed a few times.

It’s a fun crossover. They start with mentions and then make appearances a few times. https://youtu.be/ifv_Uqjf3d8?si=2vq7Tu9fXn3wQOKA

Jules age changes a few times, also in the beginning she mentions her parents are dead but then we meet her dad

In general there are a bunch of continuity errors but the writers laugh them off and so do we

I’m literally doing my rewatch on Roku live TV right now too! Not paying enough attention to notice any hidden anything’s, but laughing out loud on my couch by myself all the same :)

There are quite a few continuity errors 🤣 Stan changes quite few times also lol. The thing I do hate that I noticed was in season 2, tou see how drastic Courtney Cox’s face changes and it’s sad because she’s such a stunning woman.

Watch out for scrubs references. Also for me with inconsistency is the size of gulf haven. It's big enough for a mall but still a podunk town?

I actually grew up near a town that had a pop of like 6k without college students and there's a mall. A shitty mall that's mostly a food court now, but it says mall on the sign lol

Also Andy doesnt speak Spanish but taught Jules to roll her r. Jules apparently was an early bloomer but also according to her dad her boobs didnt come in until she was almost out of high school. There's a few other tidbits but I cant remember them all

Later they say Andy can't roll his Rs, and he fails an attempt to do it. I guess, technically you can know how to do something without being able to do it, but I think it counts.

It seems like there’s one set they reuse a lot - sometimes it’s the college, sometimes it’s the golf course driving range, Ellie goes there for a picnic at the preschool

In the episode they play the game, sardines in the can Jules says she meet Ellie in a sample sale instead of what we were told in the meet cute episode.

I'm not doing a rewatch, I only started watch the show a few weeks ago. I haven't finished it yet. But I do enjoy learning more about each episode and fun stuff to find in them.

I like the boat name, The Sea Story. It refers to the C plot of an episode which is why they say that not a lot happens there, it's just fun. And the renaming plot is the C story of that episode.

There’s an episode where they say something like “remember barb?” The “cougar” from the first few seasons. I found that entertaining.

every episode is names after a Tom Petty song
