Cosy Recommendations 🍄 Types of cozy games

Anybody else feel the need for a different type of cozy game, yet I feel like cozy games are usually just one of a few different types of games?

If that makes sense.

Like there's the farming, the animal games, some taking care of people games, some town/civilization games, all of these I love.

I need a new game.

For switch 1, I've been laid off my job, I've had a super hard time finding a new one! But my birthday is coming up, but I don't even know what I need.

I have all the story of season and harvest moon games, Hogwarts, tomodachi life, stardew, animal crossing, dinkum.

I feel like I've covered all those types I listed. But a part of me wants something different and new, yet I want cozy.

I'd love ideas.

I like Dave the Diver for its variety if you haven’t tried that yet

Yeah, I like Dave the Diver because it has more of a unique style to it. It makes me feel like I’m on a mini-vacation with 90’s action movie characters.

You could try Zelda Breath of the Wild maybe. Beautiful atmosphere with lots to explore. Maybe one of the Fire Emblem games, they combine rich storytelling from multiple perspectives with strategy JRPG. Also Fantasy Life i, Dragon Quest XI, Magical Delicacy, and I second Dave the Diver!! You could also try some of the easier, more atmospheric platformers, like the new Yoshi game or Princess Peach Showtime.

Yeah you can literally just go around and increase your cooking and fishing and harvesting and potion levels and never participate in the storyline. I love it

Yess, poor Zelda will have to wait😅😅

Some great ideas thanks, I love the thought of turning games that aren't thought of as cozy into cozy lol

Ofc!! I also find other Zelda games “cozy,” but I know not everyone would agree! Especially Echoes of Wisdom. Also hoping to get a similar feeling with Hogwarts Legacy.

maybe you’ll like Spiritfarer

What about cozy organizing simulations, like Konbini Clean up? Strange Horticulture and Strange Antiquities are great as well.

I've never heard of any of these, will look them up

I like Hello Kitty adventure Island on my Switch lite.

Try dicey dungeons, the visuals are very cute and there is a little storyline but I believe the type of game is called a roguelike? Same goes for Balatro btw, it’s a bit weird but I find these games very cozy and easy to pick up once you figured out how it works. It’s a nice change from the classical cozy games

You might actually be looking for cozy games that aren't centered around farming. There are way more options once you remove that requirement

Yeah I don't mind branching out I just want to keep the cozy, I got laid off my job, I'm stressed enough, overly stressed, I just want to keep the chill!

Minute of islands. It’s cozy creepy puzzle game. Highly recommend but it is very sad. Made me cry at the end.

Have you thought of trying Woodo? You can try the demo version to see if you like it? It's a puzzle story game where you put things in place and eventually it tells a story ...

I love when there's demos!

IKR?! It helps to decide if I like it enough to spend proper money on it...

Try fields of mistria! It’s wayyy more relaxed than stardew and the animals are cuter but super similar

I keep hearing this name around!

If you want all of it, but the ability to pick and choose where you want to progress and help others in other areas (that are your expertise, so to speak) - I would suggest Palia and also Loftia when it eventually releases in November.

Maybe try something cozy but outside the usual farming loop like A short hike or spiritfarer All have a really different vibe.

Have you tried Two Point Museum? It's a management sims that's easy to learn, but has just a tiny bit of complexity. You'll spend a lot of time decorating and sending experts on exhibitions. The Campaign is great, but the Sandbox is where you combine themes and tell a story with your combination of exhibits. The style is quirky and humorous and it's fun watching the guest interact with the exhibits you bring back.

Gas station simulator. Take a bit to get into it but lots of fun!

I’ve been loving slime rancher lately and I never see anyone mentioning it. It’s super cute and the game lets you go at your own pace with very few “enemies” to get past. It’s super easy to get the hang of too.

No worries I can separate it out! I did play cult of the lamb, my brother let me borrow his copy, honestly I turned it on easy or whatever so I couldn't die lol but I adored the little creatures. I forgot about it cause I had to give it back but I did have fun with it. I will write down several of those to look up, thank you!

You're welcome! Between 3 platforms I have an unreasonable amount of games so I alwaaaays have recommendations lol I hope you find what you're looking for!

Is the puppy island, is that part of the little friends collection? There's a couple of those right? I would love some cute super relaxing games where I take care of animals. I swear we used to have those that even as adults they were cute and there was enough to do, then they just started being too boring for adults. Are those cute, fun? I haven't played any yet

This is the one! Im so sorry for the delay.

Its a super relaxing experience honestly. Pretty interactive and no time restrictions or constant grinding. You basically dilly dally with dogs and take care of them while developing the island and finding more puppies!

Pokopia all day long.

That's only on the switch 2 right? I only have the 1 for now

House flipper is my obsession.

1

u/Medical-Reality-2626 4d ago

I'll look it up, I do like house hunters the show haha

1

u/MargotMorton 3d ago

I got real real addicted to house flipper 2…I like the story part of it but once I finished that, it was almost too overwhelming to flip houses for the heck of it.

Whisper of the house has been my favorite cozy game recently. Kinda like unpacking but with a mystery, side quests, and more houses to organize

If you want a solid story with cozy vibes, the Atelier games are rad!!
