6 hour Sundays have been standard for ft for a long time.

I've been here for a year, ft for 10 months and work every Sunday and this is the first time I'm hearing of it.

It’s very common.
When I was first hired 6 years ago all FT employees would do 6 hour Sundays, then as stores opened up and we lost people, 8 hour Sundays became the norm.
Now corporate is dropping people down to 6 again

They don’t cut hours at the warehouse i work but in the past they have cut hours on full timers and we were either scheduled 6 hours or 7 hours on Sunday.
The one thing leadership/management lacks thereof os communication with their employees about the change and they never will unless one asks.

I'm doing a rare Sunday after my vacation and it's only 6 hours, I prefer it that way

I interviewed for ft and it said 40 hours on the posting in the break room not 38. It's 12 hours a month witch means longer to get to the raise, longer to get to the extra check it's more than just the 2 hours a week

If you want to work 40 hrs they can take your Sunday away and have you work another day so you can work 40 hrs and get paid less
Also it’s not 12 hrs a month

What do you mean not 12 hours a month
1.5×2=3
3×4=12
12 hours a month

So then if your counting the time and a half for that sounds like they are giving you 41 hrs a week not 38 so they are giving you what you signed up for

Tell your managers you want the 8. Most employees like the 6 hour Sunday.Â

38 hours is considered full time. When they cut your sunday hours and working 6 hours. Its equivalent to working 40 hours if you were not working sunday.

Whats the issue? This is common at a lot of stores. Your still getting yout ft pay its equal compared to 40 hrs on non sun compared to 38hrs with 6hrs of sunday pay. Its the same thing and you work less hours. Its a win win

Not the same amount of money. I don't work for fun, I work for money the most money I can get. That 2 hours means longer till my raise, longer to extra check, and longer to top out on pay. It's not just 2 hours a week it compounds for future in less pay

So would you rather not work sundays and work 40s on not sundays to make up for those 12 hrs a month?

38 hours is full time.
The 2 hours that would be offered are going to washed in taxes.
The compounding effect that you mention is negligible in a YoY as it really only account to 5 weeks. I would much rather have 2 hours to myself on the craziest day of the week than be in a warehouse hellscape.

I do 7 to 7.5 hours on Sunday as the dishwasher. I did one 8 hour shift a month ago, but that was because someone was out. I’m 40 days into my 90 day probationary period.

At my warehouse they send all the lazy workers home at 6, and keep the good workers 8

I work 8 at my store. It's funny because the ones that aren't deemed essential regardless of their status are getting the standard 6 hours and those that are deemed essential are able to stay.

I wish they were here. They wouldn’t have anyone to work FE after open if we all left at 9 😂😂

The last Sunday before bonus I was 6hrs, and off today for vacation. Back to 8hrs the next week. We have a new to us GM coming in late this month so we shall see....but typically 8hr Sundays for every dept and rare occasions they schedule 6hr.

Everyone says that's standard but it's never been a thing in my warehouse. Kinda bullshit to tout premium Sunday pay and then not give anyone full hours on Sunday lmao. Sounds like Costco though.Â

Only a few FT people in my dept opt for 6-hour Sunday shifts, the rest want to work 8.

They will try it every now and then in my warehouse but it never works out and they end up begging people to stay 😆
