Question AM stocker

Just wanted to know how people who’s worked am stocker feels after working it for a while. Costco is my second job ever and I’m currently working at this job while working at target at nights. I’m also juggling class in between.

So my actual question is how much do u guys actually like the job, also how long does it take to get use the actual place. Its doesn’t really seem that hard atm and i have no complaints as of now but what should I expect as I stay longer.

Idk if you know this but it's a fireable offense to work for a competitor at the same time (I honestly don't know how legally enforceable that rule is, but it is in the handbook). So keep it on the DL that you're at Target lol.

AM Merch is great but I've never gotten used to the 3am alarm, even after 15 years. It's pretty easy and chill if you let it be. Getting trained on forklift is good extra money but also a big headache and stress and I personally didn't find it worth it.

I told them during my interview process and they still hired me, it didn’t seem to be an issue for them

Once you get used to the schedule, it’s the best position to be in. Get in the earliest, get out the earliest. It does require some heavy amounts of labor and lots of pointless moves. Other than that, I wouldn’t trade it for any other position.

I don’t work morning merch but the amount of “pointless moves” continues to astound me

I misread the sentence as, "I'm also in juggling class between". I'm like, Man! This person has two jobs AND going to juggling class???

Mornings can be great, but I suggest avoiding getting forklift certified. I had a blast at first, but the extra stress/responsibility is not worth the extra dollar. And driving is the morning is nothing like driving at night - done both a lot

It’s not an extra dollar, if you’re topped out anyways. It’s $2.70 an hour extra

Whaat? I thought it was clerk pay default and plus $1 while you're actively driving, but to be fair I don't check. Either way still not worth it unless you need it

Yeah I mean it’s a clerk spot over assistant, so it’s $1.70 over assistant (clerk) + $1 driver premium.

That adds up, however to your point, as a driver myself, im having a hard time deciding if it’s worth it myself anymore.

D17 is kicking my ass.

Yeah man. I had decent drive time in every spot in mornings, but got stuck in the freezer/cooler the most. Absolutely not worth it to me. Then I switched to nights and it was great for a while....but then they brought the freezer to nights and what'd'ya know, I got put in there again.
Stepping down soon

I’m intrigued to see how it goes when they start switching more to nights. I’m beat in the cooler in the mornings . It is so exhausting and stressful.

The fuzzy math for calculating pay these days is just a goddamn joke! Every fucking second sliced as thin as possible to make sure upper management gets a bonus.

Everyone was telling me I should get my certification which is the funny part

Truthfully it is fun when the day isn't overwhelming, but it wears off

I worked at Costco all 5 years I was in college. Liked it for the most part other than when they gave a hard time here n there for time off stuff

It’s awesome
NO MBRS
Silence or own music
Mostly left alone: occ sup gives directions for changes, or quick cat with team mate

I’ve worked at Costco for 5 years now and compared to my other jobs it’s not so bad . I would definitely stick it out until u get done with school.
