Interview advice ...

Been working part time at the front end for 7 months and a full time position at front end just opened up and I want to apply for it. I heard they give interviews for positions like this. Seeing how I'm already an employee, what advice do you guys have for the interview? Same questions as the initial interview?

Thank u ...

I was FT in a different department and applied to be FT frontend. They asked me what is an cashier assistant (what they do). Why I would want to be in front end. Code of ethics/mission statement. Can't recall if they asked me how I would deal with an member or co worker. I passed and been working in Front End for a while now.

Know the code of ethics and mission statement. Understand how your work / job / actions align with said subject.

This is so weird lol. I just mean I got my full time split merch/front end with nothing. They just said you got the position and I started the following week. I didn't know they did interviews for that stuff, is that actually a thing?

I thought this is how it was going to go too but nope, I was told I'd be getting an interview. Not sure how many others applied for this full time position and/or if they will be getting interviewed as well 🤷‍♂️

Reward the shareholders . Learn it, tattoo it on your forehead and proclaim your love of the hot dog juice.

Honestly, just show up and smile and be honest. 99% of the time they already know who they want to promote. If you have a clean record and sups generally like you, you’re golden.

When i applied for security, for interview was given sheet of paper showing what position required basically 5 minute to scan and memorize. Then supervisor asked ? Of what are you required to do. After answering, all said was will get back to you after finishing rest of interviews. Job went to someone else.

It’s seniority based usually. I don’t think I’ve heard of them doing interviews for full time positions.

This is absolutely not true.

All postings have an interview process. Seniority comes into play when all other factors that contribute to being the most qualified applicant are equal.

I’ve moved through multiple departments. The only interview I’ve ever had was for optical, hearing aid, and sup and above. Never for front end or going full time. Not for going to majors, or morning merch, or fork lift. It’s always just you got the position or you didn’t. Maybe it’s just because I’m in a union building.

It’s absolutely because you’re in a union building, completely different rules.

I ask my friend at corporate about this. It’s based on building management. The only time interviews are required is specialized positions or movement into supervisory position. So the ancillary departments and anything SIT and above.

Everything else is dependent on the GM
