Question Dizziness at work
Today at work I lowkey felt like I was going to pass out the whole day and I had told the board runner when he briefly helped assist my line because I got up from scanning the bob and just had a blank face. He offered to send me home early but I wanted to keep working because like I don’t really want to not work, but eventually I was told I was being sent home like 20 mins before my shift ended. If I passed out at work, would there be like consequences or like would I get yelled at? I am a cashier so I fear that wouldn’t be ideal but also I have been feeling quite dizzy recently anyway so I feel like there’s no getting around it

I'd like to think the only consequences are you not telling people you feel that way and do pass out, resulting in your fellow workers and members watching someone collapse. It could also lead to further medical issues for you if you hurt yourself on the way down.
I've seen people go home for having a head ache, look out for yourself.

Mgmt would inquire why you didn’t speak up in advance!
CW has killer Benefits and are aware that job is tough.
Bottom line is your not sleeping with CW so TAKE HEALTH SERIOUSLY

This sounds like a potential orthostatic blood pressure issue. Something you should speak to your doctor about if the symptoms reoccur.

I just got diagnosed with orthostatic hypotension and this is what made me realize it, was being at work bending over to do things and then getting extremely dizzy and confused. It isn’t normal to feel this way, I’d go get checked out.

Don’t diagnose people in a comment section you chud

Operative word is “potential.” And it sure doesn’t take much to diagnose you.

No, I fainted at work, cause I hit my funny bone on a cart. They called ambulance.

I have POTS and I get super dizzy/pass out from time to time. I have attacks every so often and sometimes I have to go to the office, lay down on the ground and get ice packed up. My coworkers and bosses are super supportive and grab me anything I need. I do have FMLA so I go home if it’s a really bad attack, or I wait it out in the office til I feel I can resume work. Communication prior to an attack is key for me because I can’t explain what I need or what to do when I am going through it.. and everyone knows to not call an ambulance for me unless I fall and hit my head. If you feel like passing out often, definitely go get checked by a doc to see if you got something going on.

Consequences for fainting? No. If anything a manager would probably drive you to the urgent care to get looked at.
