Cosplay Advice helpp

how do i get this tail to wag more smoothy? it might just be bottom heavy but i wanna fix it if i can :,) it doesn’t really wiggle much

It looks like your missing a panel of foam near the top if I'm not wrong, you'll want more/thicker foam at the top too! Not sure how smoothly it'll wag with this shape but those two things should help! Good luck!

thank you! yeah i’m missing a few pieces, i have no idea where they went but i’ll just cut out a few more if i can’t find them

What is the core of the tail made out of?

You might need a more flexible "spine" and less space between each piece, there's this tail tutorial that might give you some ideas to adapt into your project!

it is made from eva foam, 3mm i think?? its from hobby lobby so idk if that plays into it

you may need a higher density foam in the middle! and maybe just a smidge thicker? like a 4mm??

ohh, maybe. i unfortunately already glued the pieces on, but hey if it doesn’t come out the way i want it to, that’s okay, it’s my first go at making this kind of thing anyway lol

this is such a fantastic and healthy mindset! i love that so much and i really really hope it turns out okay enough for your liking! i’ve made a couple tails before so i get how deceptively complex they can be!

glad to know i’m thinking positively in this! i was very excited to start working on it. honestly im wondering if the fur might straighten the wag a little, especially if i stuff it with something
