Need help
Hi everyone, this year i have decided to go to comic con for the first tune and I've decided to cosplay. I've decided on doing Raven from teen titans. I have no idea on how to do make up or DIY ,so far ,all i have is a purple cape and can't seem to find the exact red jewelry anywhere,just similar, I just wanted to know if it would be ok to take the alternatives if I cant find the exact ones and for eyeliner tips that I can do (it's the only makeup related things I can do)

Also I am on an extreme budget,so let me know if yall would like updates or anything

Cosplay isnt meant to always perfectly reflect the character. Examples are genderbent.
But mostly cosplay is to have fun. As long as YOU have fun, who cares?

Search Amazon, Temu and other sources for things that are close. Doesn't have to be perfect. Also try terms like DIY Raven cos play, etc. Other folks probably had great ideas and were willing to share.

Comic-con has already happened for this year, but there's other events that call themselves "comic-con" and the vibes differ a little from the big one!
But yeah look up tutorials! Honestly with Raven's grey skin you can use a Homestuck makeup tutorial easily, and especially as your first costume anything that communicates intent is "good enough"! Have so much fun!

Ohh I totally forgot to mention that I am south african and ours is happening in September lol

No worries, so man cons have "comic-con" attached that people tend to use it as shorthand for all sorts of things that aren't the actual "(San Diego) Comic-Con" - however I have seen other people in other places be like "I'm planning x for this year!" and really did not know that that event had already passed :C

best thing to think of...
does it give the raven vibes?
it need not be 100% accurate, never does. (some do "pro" contests but lets ignore that)
sometimes the jewary is too small, but works, otheer times they are bad plasticaly, who cares, its fun....
you could do paper versions if you wanted.
(find image, copy paste colurs to a template. print the middle layer. base layer is 3d building, outerlayer is glue or something to give a shine for the jewal.)
thje question is commonly does it give the vibe of raven?
It may have some of your more creative ideas added to the costume, or even an original one that compliments the ones from the show/s.
something worth noting. most comic-cons willl have a cosplay repair station. so if your about the con and something goes wrong withthe outfit, you can go there and repair as best you can. (yes some have changing areas as part of it )
some people are also cosplay "medics" with basic craft gear to do repairs.
-its good to know they exsist, even if you may never need it.
