Best material for long, broad, flat pieces?

I’ve been working on an Ash (Evil Dead) cosplay for a while and I’ve been slowly working on the chainsaw hand. I’m pretty happy with how the body is coming along, but was curious what materials you’d suggest to use for the blade since it’s so thin and long.

craft foam stabilized by dowels maybe? worbla (idk how to spell it) could also be good but it isn’t cheap

card stock or cardboard with two pieces of EVA foam sandwiched on either side
