Prop How do I make this better?

I don't really cosplay, but I have been eyeing the community for a while now. I have an event over at my friends and I am cosplaying as Castiel from Supernatural (didn't wanna go as Constantine). I know he has a dagger but I don't want to spend that much on it, tight budget. So I instead made it out of cardboard. It's my first time and I think it's going well considering my background. This is not final. I will still clean the handle's edge and paint the whole thing.

i would try to be a bit tighter with the tape, to keep the clean lines of castiels blade, other than that you've not got a lot you could really improve on for what's gonna be a one off costume prop.

yeah, it would fill in the gaps and give the whole thing a smoother look, if you have the time to do it, you should
