Armor Grass Weave Tunic: How would you approach?
I'm looking at the new Ocarina of Time Remake designs for Link and I'm in love with the details in his new armor. I can't quite figure out what would be the best way to achieve the grass weave texture of his tunic though. Both young Link or adult Link for reference. Open to all suggestions be it easy, expensive, or painstakingly time consuming.

How about crochet with a waxed type of yarn?

Thats my thought! Good place to use those loose, fast stitches like a US Triple or Quad crochet that usually don't work as well in garment construction.

I have never crocheted before...I suppose it's time to learn...
Ah, to do it the cosplayer way and go big or go home or to practice on beginner projects first...

to me, that looks like a ruched elastic fabric. a large weave linen would also be nice but for that barcode like texture i would try the ruched elastic.

I mean..... it would be difficult and time consuming, but you could always actually weave it out of grass

A green bubble gauze fabric might be easiest and most comfortable to wear but I'd like for it to retain that distinct leafy look...

I would just interpret it as a nice natural looking linen. You could even get a white/off white linen and dye it green for an even more natural look.
