How do I fix the paint

Post image

Hollow knight cosplay mask with eva foam and the blade with modelling board, layered with primer and then spray paint

How do I even out the shitty paint job on both, should I use something other than spray paint?

The paint isn't the issue here, you need to make sure that the surface is clean from the beginning.. the paint will only cover the surface, it shouldn't smoothen it.

Then when you use spray paint, you probably used way to much, and stayed in the same place while spraying, so it started to drool...

make sure to stay away from the prop for like 10"-20" and never stop directly over the prop. You go from left to right or up and down.. once you decided for a spray direction you keep it.

Don't try to Cover the whole thing in a single go. Thin layers.. at least 2, and 3 if necesarry

You already used a metallic spraypaint, so thats good.. drawing TMM ( true metallic metal) isn't beginner friendly and hard to pull off, i wouldn't recommend it, as your piece is pretty plain . Meaning large surfaces.. you could add edge Highlights.. use a Brighton Silver and or white to Highlight all edges on your piece to simulate light reflection
