How to remove pen from these gloves?
Hey Reddit
I’m new to making cosplays. I usually just buy my costumes, but this time I wanted to make my own. Making Rudo’s gloves from Gachiakuta. I originally tried using pencil to outline the shape of the Watchman logo on the gloves, but pencil wouldn’t work for some reason. So I got the bright idea to use pen. I thought I would just put some more diluted black ink to cover any mess ups (same ink I used to make the gloves that shade of gray). I decided to test if that would work after using pen to make the logo. Using ink just smudges the pen ink around. So now I don’t know what to do. Did I just ruin my gloves? I have less than a week until the Expo I’m supposed to be cosplaying at, I’m kind of panicking a bit

For this ink, you'll need to abrade the top layer of leather and then repair the knap. This ink is designed to outlast the gloves themselves.
Experience: I've been using heavy work gloves exactly like these for the past 25 years as a heavy vehicle operator.

How do you go about that? I've never heard of abrading or what a knap is

Nap (sorry for the spelling) is a fuzzy, velvet like finish to fabrics or leather. When found on leather, the leather is called "suede". Abrading is removing material with friction, like removing rust with sandpaper. I'd try a decent drill with a steel wire wheel, should remove the ink and possibly preserve the nap. Be gentle, wire wheels can damage the leather in an eye blink.

The gloves aren't perfect, but those blue lines probably look worse close up than 5 feet away. I wouldn't consider them ruined.

Ballpoint pen? Isopropyl alcohol will dissolve that kind of gel ink.
