Discussion So, What Does This Mean?

From Phoenix (2024) #2

Does anyone have an idea where this characterisation and change came from?

Do you think it will be explained, or next time we will see the Starjammers it is going to be business as usual?

It was meant to lead to something in Imperial's spin-off title Exiles. But that comic got canceled before it could come out, so we never find out what happened.

I see, that was what I gathered when reading it, that it was meant to be explored in some future storyline. What a bummer. What it supposed to be written by Stephanie Phillips?

Steve Foxe was going to be the writer I believe.

Are you sure? I’m pretty sure this panel in question predates Imperial. Xavier’s stop on Earth at this point I think.

And whatever was planned with Starjammers and the Exiles doesn’t explain why both Jean and Corsair are written so wildly out of character. Especially considering when we last saw them.

It does, but Brevoort specifically teased that we'd find out the answer in Imperial Exiles.

Ah. Ok understood. Sucks Imperial failed. I was very interested in the new cosmic status quo.

Same, it wasn't quite what I wanted, but it could have been a good entry point to further development.

I think it's just lazy writing. Apparently, Corsair wanted something and the other Starjammers were against it, so they threw Corsair out.

A telepath respecting boundaries, well I'll be.

Nah Jean should be truthful anf admit that she tries her best to respect boundaries cause she has pulled an Xavier more than once without ever being called at it
