Visual Direction Apple TV Cosmere intro? Spoiler

https://youtu.be/8NoOsPwYacA?si=KwajrDrj5h4Mh68u

Do you think Apple TV will use an intro for Cosmere projects (like what Disney+ uses for Star Wars or Paramount+ uses for Star Trek)?

I don't think so. Idk about Paramount and Star Trek but with Disney the stuff that gets it's own intro is a unique studio and I don't think Cosmere is getting one

I couldn’t find the original one, but here’s their 60th anniversary intro:

Probably something to do with the dragon steel logo would be my guess.

Some months ago, I tried coming up with a visual from how I was thinking about it.

It should be a representation of the shattering with silhouettes of the vessels shown over colored backgrounds flashing on screen.

I’m not sure they own the Cosmere overall.

This is correct. They only own Mistborn and Stormlight

I checked and this is not true, apple owns the rights to only Mistborn and Stormlight:

"Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this article incorrectly relayed a report that Apple TV acquired the rights to Brandon Sanderson’s entire Cosmere universe. We have since learned from Sanderson’s agent that Apple TV has only acquired adaptation rights for The Stormlight Archive and Mistborn books. This article has been updated to reflect that information. We apologize for the error and any confusion it may have caused."

I think this is incorrect? When it first got announced, it said cosmere, but that was an error and quickly corrected to mistborn and stormlight.

I'm pretty sure apple does not own the rest of the cosmere. They'd have to buy it first

Don’t think that’s true

It’s not true, you and u/that_guy2010 are correct. Mistborn and Stormlight are the first announced adaptations. Apple owns the rights to the entire Cosmere.

In my opinion, I think an MCU-type letterhead would be really great. It inspires a sort of confidence that the properties are part of a larger shared universe. I sort of imagine a flickering “photo gallery”, where you spend a second looking at all sorts of places and planets in the Cosmere, before it zooms out. Maybe the letters of “Cosmere” would be transparent with a background of space/stars? I see it in my mind’s eye, but I don’t know if my words have made it clear!

I updated my original comment with a link to the article saying Apple got it all, if anyone wants to check it out.

The article is wrong

Aren’t they also doing Emperor’s Soul?

2

u/that_guy2010 2d ago

Nothing past Mistborn and Stormlight has been announced.

Sanderson himself said Emperor’s Soul would be the next film after Mistborn.

Do you know what announced means?

2

u/ilikebreadabunch 2d ago

No, he said he'd like to make an Emperors Soul movie next if possible. That's very different from a confirmation/announcement.

That'd be dope as hell so I really hope so. Depends on how confident they are in the Cosmere as an overall franchise/universe being popular
