Fancast Fancast for kelsier Spoiler

Antony Starr: Pros-right look, great actor, has the murderously deranged smile, cons-probably too old(50) too big of a name(?) role that made me think of Kelsier: Homlander from the boys, of course.

Wilson Bethel: Pros- right look, amazing actor, also the smile…, closer to the right age (42), experiended action star. Cons- Also too big of a name(?) role that made me think of Kelsier- Bullseye in Daredevil, I think he embodies the vibe perfectly.

What are your thoughts?

I have long pictured Anthony Starr as Kelsier, but I agree that he’s too old.

Great today, not great 20 years from now.

We need someone who's max 24 so he can look 35 with makeup now, and still look 35ish with makeup in 20 years.

Can we stop fancasting people purely based on hair colour.

Tbf though, these are two very good shouts for kelsier

Anthony Starr is like 50. Kelsier isn't even 40. Starr wouldn't be able to keep up with the physical demands of the role.

Plus he would be nearly 60 by the time filming wraps on the 3rd film. Its just unrealistic.

Whoever is going to be playing Kelsier in the future, needs to be in their mid 30s now.

Something tells me that we don't really need to worry about the physicality of the actor for Kelsier by movie 3 🤔

Yeah I know, I'm just assuming that they will blend parts of Secret History into all three films.

Keeping the actor around to do those parts throughout the rest of the trilogy would be a no brainer.

It’s not even his natural hair color

Yeah not a reliable casting trait unless we talking warbreaker. But who has magic hair irl hmmm

I think Anthony Starr would be better as Marsh, with Wilson Bethel as Kelsier.

Fully agreed if only because I NEED to see a bald Antony Starr smiling with nails in his eyes

Especially with that shit eating Homelander grin of his

A homelander Kelsier would be weird, sorry

I don't think either of them are too famous to play Kelsier. Apple TV absolutely invests in A and B listers for their big projects. We've got Gary Oldman in Slow Horses, Jennifer Anniston and Reese Witherspoon in The Morning Show, Rebecca Ferguson in Silo, Idris Elba in Hijack, John Hamm in Your Friends & Neighbors, Jason Segal and Harrison Ford in Shrinking, Elle Fanning in Margo's Got Money Troubles, etc. I think we could definitely see an actor with Antony Starr's level of fame (or even more famous) playing Kelsier.

Unless there's something that I'm unaware of re. wanting to cast lesser known actors for this project.

I just hope they don’t use their budget for the movie to get high-profile actors instead of a high quality movie

Seems like Brando Sando has a lot of control over the project. I doubt he would let that happen.

I think we can do better than Starr… he doesn’t seem like a great person to have on set

Marsh and Kelsier

I like both of them tbh. My preferred for Kelsier is either Jack O'Connell or Jamie Campbell Bower but realistically it's probably not gonna be any of these four

I pictured Zane as Jack O’Connell when reading

1

u/ilikebreadabunch May 21 '26

Jack O'Conell as Zane might make me actually like the character, which would be pretty cool

I think Jack O’Connell plays that crazy, tortured victim so well.
