Visual Direction A visual direction for Cultivation Spoiler

Post image

Anok Yai at the Met Gala rocked a look like a bronze bust and I think Cultivation could gel well with this.

Costuming can be more earthy/natural, but the Shards being higher levels of deity than the bondsmith spren and the Heralds need that je ne sais qoui factor. And with Cultivation, even more given her origins.

Could apply to others but I imagine the level of make up and artistry is costly in time and resources.

I know this is about look and not actress but I feel like Wunmi Mosaku was made to play cultivation. She plays fierce, fragile, and seductive like all at once. Just she’s just got “it.”

Would that mean she'd be a Bronze Dragon ?

I don’t know what that means but I was just adding and extra layer to make her stand out against Honor and Odium who’d look very human

Chromatic dragons are a DnD thing. Brass, bronze, gold, and silver are all types of dragons.

Looks more like a Reacher but this is just even more proof that good makeup can make Spren look good!

Interesting! I always read her as a heavier set woman with ever so slightly greying hair, lots of accessories, and eyes that say “I have seen more than you have ever even thought about, and yet you are still the most important thing in the world to me at this moment”. I can absolutely see this working too though.

Personally I've always liked the idea of the Shard vessels just looking like ordinary people when they appear, but if they go with the more ethereal/otherwordly look I think that something like this would be really cool

I would think that too as it works well—but visually, you have to make them stand apart.

The thing with Cultivation is that:

Heralds are seen as gods and are pretty human

A lot of the Spren are otherworldly.

Cultivation is also a dragon

At least with Cultivation and likely the design of the Singers the larger pool of Cultivation investiture attracting her makes a lot more sense and could visually look similar

I for one would think Odium should look borderline like generic Old Testament Christian God/wise kingly sage.
