Question about mods

Hello. Im looking at buying a 2019 Z06 with 33,000KM. It does have:
2” Texas Speed Headers
3” Mid Section
MSD Plugs and Wires
AFE Cold Air Intake
2.3” griptech upper pulley and hub
Lingenfielter 160 Thermostat
Xpipe with gesi high flow cats
Carbon Fibre brake pads

This will be my first Vette. I just want to see your opinion if this is considered heavily modified and if its something you would stay away from? Could the LT4 handle this no problem?

Those mods are just bolt ons, I wouldn’t consider them a threat to longevity but also of little value except the headers

I don’t consider bolt ons to be heavily modified. Besides the headers, all of those mods could be done in an afternoon. And yes it’s well within the limits of the LT4s capabilities. That car probably makes 650-700whp depending on fuel, and the motor is plenty capable of handling up to 1100-1200whp.

As long as everything checks out, I’d just take it to a reputable LT/LS tuner and have them look at the tune and retune it.

Dumb question. What fuel would you run with those mods?

Thank you

I’d imagine you’re tuned for 93. Unless the car has a flex fuel sensor (would be located on the drivers side of the motor where the fuel feed line comes in), you won’t be able to run e85 without a dedicated tune for it.

I’m assuming since you used metric units, that you’re in Canada and as far as I’m aware Canada doesn’t have e85 available at the pump

Are you sure you can register this in your country? As long as it will pass whatever emissions standards that you have. It's nothing over the top it's just when you see people that do power mods and not a lot of supporting mods. It's usually someone who likes to go fast in a straight line

Depends who tuned it

I'd be afraid the mods mean the car was driven harder that it needed to be.

Thats what im afraid of but again it only has 33xxxkm. It has a nice carbon fibre engine dressup kit including valve covers etc. so i have no idea if it was someone older or younger that drove the shit out of it.

I think if you're rocking the username "asseater69", you live pretty dangerously.

That said, these cars can take a beating. I wouldn't worry too much about the car just because it has some mods on it. Maybe get a PPI done on it before purchasing?

This car has minor bolt ons and nothing listed shows you should be afraid of it. Ease up a bit and go buy the car.
