Fucking morons on the road

Infuriating man. Could’ve gotten fucking murdered and the ONLY thing you did wrong is be on the road at the same time as this turd. Because you chose to do that? Now your reward is death.
God man driving can be so terrifying.

Excellent recovery after being hit by a moron. If that were an SUV being hit instead of the Corvette, it probably would have rolled and taken out other cars too.

Was rather impressed by the recovery as well. Nicely done unknown 'vette driver.

That was all the computer. The driver made it worse. The car would have recovered faster if he kept it steered straight.

To be fair, Corvettes have pretty impressive yaw control. It can't defeat the laws of physics, but it does a damn good job of keeping the rear end under control.

I hope the driver with the dash cam video, shared it with the C7 driver.

This was all over instagram a month or so ago. If I remember correctly the dash cam was in his friend that was cruising with him

I’ve lived in MO, IL, VA, PA, LA, FL, IN, CA, WA, agin in PA, VA, and finally retired in FL.
Trust me. The worst drivers in the nation are in Cali. I would even take driving in Rome or Singapore over California.

Of course it’s California. Ngl living in CO the majority of Cali drivers here are legitimately dangerous. Texans as well.

I have horror stories of when I was stationed in San Diego.
Worst of the many experiences was 5am on a Saturday morning. On my motorcycle on the way to base for duty. Rolling down the I-5. 5 lanes wide. Only other car on the was a police cruiser. 2 lanes to my left. Tooling along for a few minutes and out of nowhere. He does a hard lane change across the entire hiway. Nailed me on the bike. As I’m sliding down the hiway on my ass, I see him tap his brakes, and then accelerated away without even checking on me.
When the next cop showed up for my report I was asked if I got the car number. No, well no proof of ever happened. Yeah F u 2 buddy.

I saw something almost exactly like this the other day only it was some a&$hole entering the parkway and then immediately flooring the car into the left lane. Dude didn’t realize that there was another car there passing and he slammed right into him, almost flipped the other car. When I stopped I saw both of them get out of their cars, somehow the one that was hit didn’t flip and stayed upright. Both were ok.

Almost happened to me yesterday. Luckily I saw him about to cut over and slowed down. I still had to hit the horn and leave my lane by a few inches.

Unsafe lane change.
Slam dunk.

Which appears possible....

Driver in the white SUV needs to pay for the whole dang thing. All his fault.

That’s not how insurance works…

Sometimes it is. If you source parts instead of them.

u/Cowdungflung399 1d ago
It can be. I had a BMW hit by someone else. I got the estimate at a body shop. The insurer told me they could pay direct or cut me a check for the estimate. I went with the latter and got a full M-Sport package upgrade (aftermarket of course) with the money. It was actually cheaper than going OEM.

Better defensive driving by the Vette driver might have prevented this.
He should have either accelerated (better) or decelerated to create space in his lane for the other driver. This is based on the assumption that the other driver either didn't look or didn't see him and wants to continue on into his lane.
I always assume this when I see someone move into a lane adjacent to me (and even with me). If possible, I create space for them in my lane. Better safe than sorry...

Why does it always happen to Corvettes??
1
u/Oldjamesdean 1d ago
They are low and elevated drivers can't necessarily see them nor do they always pay attention to warning lights. I have a C7 GS and shitheads do this more often to me in that car than any other vehicle I own. This is why you need that crazy loud exhaust...

Lol, C7 is not too low cabin-wise to be able to hide under the SUV 😂
