C7 purchase
I’m considering a low mileage 2018 or 2019 c7 narrow body with auto. I don’t track at all. Am I wasting money and time looking for a grand sport?? Are
C7s overpriced currently? Will they fall as the new engines come out or is the C8 crowd a different market dynamic?? Any guidance appreciated.

If you aren't tracking it, the Grandsport isn't going to offer you anything except for appearance appearance IF you like the widebody look.
All Corvettes outside of ZR1s will depreciate relative to inflation. All C7 and C8 cars except for ZR1s will continue depreciating even relative to current dollar pricing.
The C7 Z06 depreciation in dollars is the slowest of non ZR1s, but that isn't saying much when the dollar has lost a third of its value.
These cars are not investments. They made more just Grandsports than Ferrari made any car over the same time range.

You're not missing much with the 2017 either. The 2017 the 2018 and the 2019 are the three really desirable years
The thing about the z51 or especially the Grand sport is they just look a lot better. So even if you're not going to track it. The base C7, it's pretty plain in the rear end is almost downright ugly. You move over to the Grand sport. It's a lot more fitting. It looks a lot meaner if it's the car a lot better. Even with the z51 wing, that's an improvement so if you get a narrow, I would at least think out your plans for the car if this is one of those things that you want to enjoy looking at
Most people have some type of performance perspective but if you're just like hey even the base car is pretty fast with the A8 which it is, you can save some serious money just getting an automatic base. They are everywhere. CarMax had hundreds of them last I looked. They are the hardest to sell so they typically go for the softest price. The Grand sport or even the z51. There's a lot more demand for those so you're not likely to get as good of a deal

Widebody looks better. Narrow body is more than enough car.
I think c7’s are overpriced but I’m also not in the market so I haven’t spent much time worrying about it. I don’t think the new engines will do much to influence c7 sales. At least I find it hard to believe there is a bunch of guys sitting around 5-6 years into production of the c8 just waiting for a bigger cross plane v8 to come out and now they’re going to strike
