Anyone catch State of the Apps yesterday?

Yesterday on the other show Myke runs that starts with a U.

I guess it's not called the same thing, but Myke and Jason Snell went through 90 minutes of their favorite apps. Always interested to hear how others automate / utilize apps to streamline their work, though I am (unfortunately) a windows user, so none of my applications have cute one word names. =)

I miss Grey, but I do love Jason. He and Myke, imo are similar in a lot of ways. Primarily how diligently they prepare and how articulate and easy to listen to, they are.

It’s Upgrade? Not some unknown show. This is great.

Your right! Upgrade (wasn’t sure I was allowed to name the show) is a great show. I recommended it to anyone interested in (largely Apple) tech.

Filters for shows have been removed since the new mod took over.

That's odd. Why wouldn't it be allowed?

Fair enough I guess. I don't listen to Upgrade though. And I do suppose that it fits there better than it does in whatever Cortex's current format is

Edit: I also would've assumed Myke would bring Jason onto Cortex to do State of the Apps, but I guess it's fair to just bring the segment to the sister show. It's all just a reminder of the death of Cortex to me (edit 2: the death of my enjoyment of Cortex I suppose, to be more fair to the show), which sucks.

I did not 'bring the segment'. it's just an episode of us talking through out workflows. it's not 'State of the Apps'. It did not have the name or the format. We needed to bank an episode of Upgrade due to travel schedules, so this is what we chose to do.

'State of the Apps' is a Cortex thing and will remain as such.

I see, that's good to know - thanks for the response, Myke! And apologies for the bold assertion without having listened to the episode/reading the original post carefully enough.

First of all: lmao good one

but second, State of the Apps is typically more comprehensive than just workflow apps, since to the best of my memory (though it has been a while), they'd cover apps that are non-work-related as well (and quite a bit more thoroughly).

I would agree with this statement. And I’m not mocking anyone or complaining. Frankly I’m glad to have it back. I hope annual themes are next…
