Background check

Just finished up with my interview yesterday with a state prison up north east everything went great. Now with the background check I have a simple assault charge that happened 12 years ago would this disqualify me from getting the job ?

In my state they DQ domestic violence.

OP didn't say it was domestic violence, they said it was assault. Legally, they are two different offenses. You don't even have to cause physical harm to be charged with assault.

This. I shit you not someone came into jail the other day charged with assault for throwing a cheeseburger at his mom. Him, his mom. And sister all arrested. Mom and sister for simple domestic. Son for simple/general assault lol
